Mayo is the devils sauce, just thinking about it now makes me feel like throwing up.
Weirdly I like all the ingredients of it individually and hollandaise sauce which seems to only replace the oil with butter.

Mayo is very dependent on the brand you get. Best Foods is probably the best. The wife loves mixing it with T-Sauce which is pretty good as well.

@no-quarter I tend to go for Heinz Aoli and mix it with my home made sweet chilli sauce.

Home made aoli with a stick blender is the shot. Piece of piss to make, and you can tweak it so that it tastes the way you want.

Classic aioli is made with nothing but garlic and olive oil pounded in a mortar and pestle. Our updated version uses egg yolks to help bind the sauce along with a hand blender to make it 100% foolproof and extremely quick.

Yep. Haven't bought mayo / aioli for years. Amusing that the guy who pissed off the Vegan said that it was egg whites in mayo, but he had part of it right.
The fern really is a strange place, a thread on NZ's appalling journalism (I use that term loosely) evolves into the relative merits of a French (possibly Spanish) condiment.

I seem to recall that it is a bit of a European pavlova and there is some debate about its origins but probably France or Spain (likely from Mahon) and a French bloke stole it.
Pav is of course Kiwi and some thieving convicts tried to steal the idea. -
