haha yeah he is a giant turd, but I don't think he murdered her, doesn't the very definition of murder require pre-meditation and I would expect direct involvement, ie actually pushing her??

Surely manslaughter woulda been much easier to prove, but I guess they had their reasons for going for murder?

even manslaughter seems odd - wouldn't it set a dangerous precedent for anyone doing something stupid when they're hammered and getting killed - whoever is with them at fault?

I could understand if he had her bent over the balcony and pounded her over the edge by accident... but locking someone on your balcony? You're not exactly in life threatening danger are you.. he wasn't coming after her he chucked her out there to calm down

@WillieTheWaiter I just dont get why he didnt chuck her out of the door into the hall, rather the deck...I guess the thing is, his actions have lead to her death.

Result due out shortly I believe

Not guilty of either was the verdict.

A good verdict might have been "Not Guilty But You're Still A Piece Of Shit"

Locking someone who is wound up out on a high balcony to "calm down" is at best fucking thick. As @taniwharugby notes, much better the hallway!

not entirely surprised by either verdict, but when you hear some of the audio it certainly makes it odd that he pushed her onto the balcony when she was trying to leave...

I think it was the right verdict in the end, I don't think the prosecution got this right at all.

Cue every feminist bitch on Social media reading the verdict and whinging that he's scum and should be locked up cos naturally they've dealt with every confrontational situation they've ever been in calmly, rationally and made perfect decisions everytime. Yawn.

Granted the guy does come across as a fucken Grade A dickwad but he didn't deserve to go down for what happened.

@MN5 oh you can bet that this is going to be painted as another attack on women gone unpunished, and further proof of the patriarchal society we live in. Feminists will be blogging, and chicks will be sharing and making this a massive gender issue.

Like every trial, have to take it all with a grain of salt, as is much more than you'll see, especially given modern media takes their own view on things before presenting it out.

From what I've read, he didn't push her off the balcony, so I struggle to see how it could be either of manslaughter or murder.

Maybe he's a bit of a dickhead, I don't know him - but there isn't really any correlation between being a dickhead and a killer.

@mariner4life wonder if he visited NZ and played rugby once?

Would have been harrowing having to sit through all the audio of thier exchanges.

Moving on from the earth shattering news that Hillary prefers TV3 coffee for a moment.....

Is there anyone more deserving of an unsuspected head butt or punch in the face than Mike Hosking?

Yes.. lots of media people.... top of my list are Jeremy Wells and John Campbell

I'd love to see some sort of "celebrity" death match between Campbell and Hosking. Neither of those two could take a punch....but then neither could throw one either so it might take awhile.

The Winner gets in the ring afterwards with Joseph Parker.

Couldn't it be on some sort of Royal Rumble format? I wouldn't have any trouble identifying 30 NZ "celebrities" to take part, but I wouldn't be averse to have Hosking starting out in the ring. Maybe Kim Dotcom could be his first opponent - is he still in the country?

Without a doubt. I don't agree with everything he says but I enjoy listening to Milo Yiannopoulos completely destroying idiotic western feminists. I like his quote where he says the feminist movement in the west is in it's death throes as there is fuck all to complain about nowadays, and so they scream more and more hysterically at more and more irrelevant stuff. Until nobody at all takes them seriously anymore and it dies away (we can only hope).
