Through this partnership some of our young players will have the chance to travel to Japan and develop their game and experience a new culture. Water Gush has a good group of coaches, an ambitious rugby programme and excellent facilities where we feel our players will thrive,” said Hore.

“This partnership will open up opportunities for our coaches and players to engage with a number of very experienced Blues personnel, exchange players between both clubs and better develop our rugby IP and player development system,” said Mori.

Has he been playing for Auckland or is he injured?

He's not been playing for Auckland, not sure if that's injury or sevens. @Duluth ?

Seems to have had a long-term injury. No sevens or U20 rugby.

With Barrett coming back,Reiko staying does that mean someone Grindlay maybe ? has been let go most squads have 17 backs which is the normal it looks like 18 backs with Grindlay

I wonder if another franchise will try and snap up Rico Simpson. Blues seem to have an abundance of players that can play 10/15.

A couple of Gaps around Canes and Crusaders both need another First Five.

No I meant Reiko Ioane staying in 2025 and not taking his sabbatical.
Not Rico Simpson in that 18 I posted.

As an aside, it seems to strange for Auckland to officially name teams (Bs, U19s) now, that are halfway through their competitions..

More about the Spencer signing below. He knocked back offers from the Highlanders, Crusaders and Chiefs. The Hurricanes probably didn't bother after they fired his dad a couple season's back.

Payton signed with the Blues in his last year at school so I don't think he was going anywhere else.

I have been impressed by James Thompson lately. He is a big guy who can win the hard yards. Is he still contracted by the Blues ? The Steelers use him as a lock but I remember he had played on the blindside with the Blues.
