Black Caps tour of India - 2024

Thinking more on Santer's first innings performance, he's always been an accurate spinner that doesn't turn it much. On a pitch that turns as much as this one, he suddenly becomes an accurate spinner that turns it quite a bit, which makes him a much more challenging proposition.

That's extremely poor running from O'Rourke. He needs a bullocking for that. Not good enough.

Ajaz shouldn't be hitting out when a set Phillips is at the other end
Blundell and Santner should have showed more application. I don't know why they felt the need for aerial shots
@canefan
Needed to get over the 400 mark just to mentally get in the Indian batsmen’s heads ..concerned we have left the door ajar -
Well 400 would have shut the door, 359 has left the door ajar. That said, if India win this, they will deserve it, the pitch is very tricky to bat on.
-
Honestly, we should have enough.
India will need to score the third highest 4th innings score ever, in India - to win this - and the commentators are saying how much more difficult this is than the pitch in Chennai where they won in 2008.
It will take a couple of extraordinary innings to get them home - and probably close to four sessions, so the pitch should continue to wear.
-
A target of 359 for India, we got this….

Love how Jaiswal bats.
Get SatNav on next over

Very much a specialist bowler, I get that but you should NOT get fucken run out in a test match ! Ever !
He’d better bowl well,
India have started with a hiss and a roar, this game might be over soon.

Burned a review, so I'll use my first fuck you, Blundell!

Thought that one was the regular reminder that - for however bad umpires can be - the players are usually worse...

O'Rourke is going to challenge Chris Martin's record with the bat at this rate. At least Martin wasn't a lazy bugger in the process.

Yeah if he gets cleaned up by a beauty of a ball you shrug and say “ah well, he’s number 11…”
But he still has to be professional and do all he can to support the established batsman.
There’s nothing more admirable in cricket than a tailender supporting a batsman to a milestone.

I hinted at this a few days ago - O'Rouke has very mopey body language. He looks disinterested at times. While things are going well for him people will over look it, but when he fucks up or gets consistently tonked people will question him a little more than others. I say this because I was always accused of looking mopey even when I was trying and it was frustrating for me.
