I'm not gonna go in on Christie, enough people do that already, but Anton Lienert Brown. What the fuck was that display.

Proctor or ALB - an underwhelming selection choice.
At least Proctor did a few good things tonight in amongst the poor things. The problem really lies around the fluidity of our backline. Right now it isnโt functioning which isnโt helping newbies like Proctor settle in to their role.
So clunky.
Proctor has a lot of upside. Stick with him. A yellow card on D is not the worst offence.

What upside, exactly?

Plumber needed for dunny.
-
Take the win, flush the dunny and move on.
Newell, Savea, Jordan and Sami T were the pick of the ABs.
Holland was good too. Taylor is reliable as ever.
Christie and ALB were awful.
Beauden Barrett is rocks and diamonds. Proctor is unconvincing. And neither of the wings set the world alight.
Anyway, nice to be Number 1 in the World again. Long may that continue!

We have some issues:
Why do we kick the ball away when you have a penalty advantage?
We clearly had the wood in the forwards but didnโt use it until the last 20.
We have to work on our on our aerial game. Someone has to go up. Someone.
-
Do we have a coherent game plan? Because it all feels a bit disjointed to me. Some great aspects, but not gelling overall (yet). Amazing weโre no. 1?!! Thanks France C

Something dreadfully wrong in the ABs backs. Sure injuries but they are tactically inept, lack any cohesion at all and look like they all just met each other before the game

I said it the other day, but Will Jordan and Jordie Barrett are the only 2 players in the backline who know what the fuck they are doing.
The rest of them are headbangers.

@African-Monkey turn into a YC magnate

Hands, distribution and stepping are much better than Reiko. His work rate is really good. Every player makes a few mistakes. Thatโs the nature of sport. I think he will grow into his role.

Another question for me is: is Scooter the right captain for this team? Heโs not even playing well enough to stay on the field. Is he the heart of this team?
-
We're Number 1 in the world, folks.
But there's a lot of improvement needed before we can take on the Boks, the Wallabies and the Grand Slam tour with confidence.

@Darth-Sader they played better with him on the pitch, no?

He has just come back from injury.

Because our territory wasnโt great. Once we were in better field position we kept our discipline by and larger and played it in the forwards.
-
Scott Barrett isn't good enough to be in the 23, yet he's the Captain.
Our forward pack is probably the best in the world, and is deciding the winners of these games, the backline is absolutely shit and is keeping the score closer than it should be.
Beauden is NOT a 10. He has a labored pass, and his first instinct is to kick the ball away for the 1/30 miracle bounce that he can then live off for the next 3 years.
Half the backline currently aren't in the top 3 in their position in the country.
-
@sparky standard of world rugby must be v poor right now if this current AB team are no 1

I mean, that McCaw team must been quite good to be so dominant at the top for so long

@stodders France probably are the best team in the world right now. But they left 20 odd players at home rather than playing them against the ABs.
I think we have to reclaim the Rugby Championship before we'll really feel like World Number 1 again.

Fans voting for Ardie for MOTM on the Sky broadcast???? Are we fucking serious? Bro let in 2 tries and did fuck all else.

Well perhaps like you mate, they just got an opinion. It's no more correct or otherwise than yours. Don't get upset about it.

That McCaw team played against a bunch of plumbers and electricians. They would have no chance against todayโs rugby athletes.
โthis is the LeBron vs Michael Jordan argument
