All Blacks vs Springboks II

Think they were smashed into submission. I remember seeing very good/legendary Boks like Etzebeth reduced to WTF moments when they lost 57-0. Nothing worked that day for the Boks and everything worked for NZ. A week (or two?) later they narrowly lost to NZ in SA.
The main issue with NZ is the game plan is just not conducive to consistent performance. The up/down performances and continual poor performances in second halves leave major questions for Robertson.
The kicking game worked in the first half, but it stopped working in the second half and just gave ball back to the Boks. When you can’t catch, can’t win lineouts and are giving away penalties and territory away at the scrum, any errors crank the pressure up.
Test matches are pressure cookers. It needs cool heads and leadership to slow things down and get some momentum. Too many AB leaders are looking for the high risk play, which when they come off look great. But when they don’t, it gives the opponent a lift and cranks that pressure up another notch.
What today showed is that the Bok management are able to lift their players performance at half-time. Robertson and his management might want to leave the players out on the pitch in future if their half-time impact is anything to go by.
Robertson is massively under pressure. Lose the Bledisloe and he won’t be around to play Mo’unga when he returns.
Robertson should have got the gig in 2020 when he had his QB in Mo'unga.
Mo'unga leaving in 23 knowing Daddy was getting the keys to the castle was alarming in and of itself.

He'll be there until the EOYT I suspect. He seems to be Robinson's pet project and if he goes, it will be when he steps down.

TBF the Boks were brilliant.
Pretty difficult to survive against that scrum and brilliance in the air but.
Holland needs to start he's a source of ball.
Need Roigard.
BB is not the answer at 10.
Love needs to start.
SB good player but not captaincy.
Razor has to make the tough calls. -

Christie would be nowhere near the side if not for a really rough run of injuries. I'd prefer Fakatava, but him I can cut Robertson some slack for him
It's bloody embarrassing to think that a 4th-string player (admittedly playing his heart out) didn't look all that out of place

Springboks looked fitter than us too.
After all their early injuries, I expected their bench to be gassed late in the game, but they finished far stronger than us
Easier when yo-yo,ay with the ball.

Well done Bokke, you bounced back and played bloody well, by equal measures we were bloodynawful in that 2nd half.
We had no ball, and what little we did, we aimlessly kicked it away or dropped it, or did something else equally dumb.
The Bokke owned the airspace around Wellington, and took full advantage of our appalling work in the air, over and over, bring back Cory Jane!
As many have said, several ABs are past thier time, even someone like Scott, who still has alot to offer, I wonder if he is so ingrained in Razor-ball, he can't see when it is not.working to allow him to make changes.
That said, too many are simply not self aware enough to know what they are.doing is not working, yet we keep banging away with the same plan.
Have to wonder if Razor is self aware enough to pull the trigger on his assistants, Ryan aside (although the last 2 weeks his head should be too) none of our coaching seems upto it.
Although, who is out there that would want to join this shit show?

If Scott Robertson is not clearing his desk on Monday morning, he should be told to do so.
He won’t. So what is the next step? He needs to change his assistants as they aren’t working.
Maybe the assistants aren't the problem?

Do you think it is the message from the head coach? Because from what I have read about Rqzor, that is one thing he has been lauded for.
I really think Razor is a coach that builds through a regular season. His players bought into the team ethos and peaked for finals. The way international rugby works is different, and I think he is struggling to either articulate his message/strategy with players coming from very different set ups and cultures.

Fuck. Our scrum is toast..
That was a clear penalty to ABs. Wessels knee on ground. Dropped scrum down and ABs only went back after that destabilisation.
Right in front of AR. And TMO missed. Second Kolbe try should have been scrubbed.

Amashukeli refs based on what he feels, rather than sees sometimes. The Boks last week had the dominant scrum, and I am sure Rassie would have had a word pre-game to ask the ref for them to reap the benefit of that advantage. Before this scrum, the Boks had shown they had the edge. So the pictures to Amashukeli were clear and he penalised the ABs because he felt the Boks had the dominant scrum.
Rather than blame the ref, the ABs need to ask why their scrum has regressed as much as it has from last year when it was a weapon they used to gain penalties and launch strikes from.

Deaker asked Hart in 98 if he would resign, and Hart was a good friend of his at the time. Say what you want about Deaker but he wasn't afraid to ask the tough questions. We need people like him in our mainstream media today, not the cheerleaders that we currently have.

Anyway women up in our hotel room in Wellington, and I still pissed at what I saw. I actually said to Mrs, that could save us some money, as I feel I won't probably bother to coming to a test again. I can handle us losing, but not thinking an AB team pulled the plug with 15 minutes to go. If I see any press conference and Razor or anyone makes excuses, apart from pointing out how bad they seem to of been coached and played, I will kick the tv. And I can't afford a new one!

Thought your boys played bravely.
Condescension...
It's deserved.

This is such a negative post by your standards Dan, a huge indictment on the team. They have failed us all

My preference would be to wait until Joe Schmidt's available, then to hand him the keys to the Black Machine (well that's what it used to be).
Warren Gatland, Milton Haig, Jamie Joseph, Vern Cotter or even Robbie Deans could do as interim HCs if needed.
I think the media and NZR need to tell Scott Robertson "that second half was totally unacceptable" and then ask " now what are you going to do about it, radically and today if need be, so there is no repetition of that shambles ever?"
October.........but his young lad needs care.
He has extended until mid 2026 as Wallabies coach so Kiss can take over after Super Rugby
Kiss wanted to complete his 3 year contract with the Reds.
