Wallabies won 100% of their scrums against the Boks in both of test matches. There was only one scrum penalty in the second test against the Wallabies.

You'd almost think Australia had a decent scrum coach....

Thank heavens with our great depth of coaching talent, we didn't feel the need to retain him

Also a sub plot that no one’s brought up, Tim Donnelly has done a seriosuly good job with those Wallabies forwards. Another coach lost overseas

@jimmyb Yeah he battled with Neck issues for the first half of that Super Season (shouldn’t of been playing) even admitted it himself on an interview.

    Compare to Read and McCaw.

    Is that really fair?

What 7 and 8 ever compares to Read and McCaw?

That’s all well and good but he’s been poor this championship too. Hasn’t reached his top form that he had in early 2019. Williams on the other hand has been excellent

Beauden is 34 and a (should be outside) back whose effectiveness has always had a lot to do with acceleration and pace.
Scott is a 31 year old lock, he may well still have plenty to offer.

I agree, I'd like to see them relieve him of the captaincy with a view to him taking some time out to get his body and mind right. We really miss peak SB, especially close in, Holland and Vaa'i still have a lot to learn when it comes to both accuracy of clean outs and defense around the ruck.

Yeah, pretty jarring to watch Mike speaking at HT

The reffing was random as fuck, and to be honest I reckon he fucked the aussies pretty badly.

I think the part that annoyed me most about the non-card and card (whether the calls were right or not) was that as an AB fan I really wanted to see a big improvement in the final quarter, but the cards gave us an easy ride right after the Wallabies had got back to within 2. I think there was some improvement, we did push up field after their try which was good to see, but their YC basically put the game to bed. So hard to win when a man down at that level when it's all about the fine margins.

Now he has overseas experience he can apply for an All Blacks coaching position 😉

Roigard has the true all black mentality and self belief that’s been missing. So fucking refreshing.
Leroy Carter too, actually sitting sualii and ikitau down, which should be proctors job.

I saw on another platform someone suggesting that Love had given Hansen some honest feedback around game plan and they’ve had a falling out. Similarly, there’s a crusaders vs the rest divide within camp with only a handful of players attending Cody Taylor’s 100th test drinks. All hearsay but sounds kinda believable

Not attending the drinks for a player who has played 100 tests for the ABs is absolutely pathetic, whether you agree with the game plan or not

This from the Sydney Morning Herald - from memory there was abit more to their loss than a ref's call...

The problem is when calls go against you that involve cards, they become hugely influential. See: RWC 2023 final. It's why I don't like the use of cards to punish players, it just ruins the game as a contest and risks bad calls really screwing teams.

Dude, just fyi, sometimes what people say on internet platforms isn't always true. As a rule of thumb its worth assuming stories that sound silly are in fact silly stories that have been made up.

@voodoo I'm pleased to see more people seeing what I've been seeing. I'm firmly of the belief if he sat on the pine, half our problems would be resolved.

It goes even further than that, he'd actually be a fucking weapon off the pine in the final quarter. As it is he is often a liability starting in among the highlights. It's frustrating they wouldn't even consider it given in the modern game the bench players are actually hugely important.

Donnelly’s body of work in NZ wasn’t exactly screaming out international coach.
