@nonpartizan I think you’re right. But I think we can learn to play with confidence even when behind!
Yeah, for the first 60 mins when chasing the game the ABs were not playing as if winning was an inevitability and that they all they had to do was just keep persevering. As soon as they took the lead they played with freedom like you said and just began playing to their potential.
There was a discernible shift in confidence as you say. By the end of the game it was as if the result was "never in doubt"...... To tweak the old adage it was a game of two halves - it's just the that first half lasted an hour!
Did their play change because of the subs though?

For sure the subs were a major part of it but the team only began playing to it's potential when they got their nose in front, 14-13 imo. The play itself that got them into the game was a scuffed kick by Jordan followed by Hollands tackle and Quinn forcing a penalty at the breakdown and they were all starters.
Once they grabbed that lead it seemed to me that they played without a lot of pressure on them and they had belief.

And that's definitely a coaching thing... I wouldn't know how to coach that: "play naturally when you're feeling it; but play differently when maybe that's not quite working and just do this structure"
plan A, here, have some free beer
plan B, ok, the wife's here, she's got the keys and she's not happy...Are we now saying though... Use Plan-A despite the wife arriving?
Coz... metaphor-aside, I'm currently 100% on that trainIf not clear - I'm smashed, and just took a toke. And just hit a button which made my screen do something I don't know how to get out of...

if you're on Plan A, Plan B sounds possible but at some point it isn't and you don't really care. So, enjoy your jump into the multiverse...
