    Italy v All Blacks
  • D Darren

I was so hopeful when Razor took over. Might see some innovation, new tactics and players.
Turned out to be a bit of a joke.
Only time he has given a new inform player a shot is if the old out of form incumbent is injured.
He really can't take any credit for newbies starring, they are only playing because he had no other options - Sititi
Why are we not trying things in midfield, when it's obvious they are a handbrake - Lam and Proctor, at least give them a shot to see what they can do.
Jordan al 15 doesn't work, why not try the in form Love?

I was so hopeful this year, but feel really let down, it's just Foster 2.0
If only we had someone like Schmidt, who gives a guy playing his first pro game a start.

Feel like he pulled the wool over our eyes.

I couldn’t care less about the volume of kicking and lack of “rugby”. That’s the great thing about rugby, more than one way to win a game. Especially in weather like that.

I’m very glad we don’t play like that though!

What irks me is the constant stoppages and time wasting and using medics and water runners to coach. They need to get the fuck off the field. They shouldn’t even be miked up.

If it carries on like this, we might have to go to neutral medics and the players can drink the rain from the sky

    Absolute disgrace

We should just keep on playing, unless you need a stretcher, he can hobble off and bring on a sub.
No need to blow the whistle and stop the game.
Props boot comes off, then scrum without a boot.
Go down injured, don't care play on.
    Just don't stop the game.

If he has signed a one year contract, is that really that unusual? Don't a few guys do that now?
I know he committed to NZ Rugby for 2 years, according to that article. Kinda unusual, but really not much different to contracting year by year in my opinion.

Just watching the game, these clowns doing the commentary are about the worst I have ever heard. I should just mute it but it’s like a train wreck and you can’t look away.

Why do they report on these 2 every few days. Just leave them alone and find a more interesting story.

I understand the votes for Smith and I think he did play well overall. However, his box kicking is just so far behind Dupont's. I know it is not necessarily his fault, it was the tactic to box kick. But those balls needed to be kicked long and going back to Beauden, Jordan or Mo'unga to do so.

We didn't chase any of his box kicks

Well Jordan might have chased a couple...

What bothers me the most about the loss is the way we played. Reminds me of a league game, pass the ball to a runner who hits it up, repeat till we knock it on or get tired of that, then a kick that we never get possession back from.
There is no deception, no players in motion, no one creating an overlap or offloads to a guy on the shoulder, just boofball and no one is falling for it.
I just want to see some new tactics, some innovation, something to break down defenses instead of hit ups and kicks.
And our defensive systems are really bad and easily exploited. We do show courage on the tryline, but just allow tons of easy meters.
    It is all beyond frustrating.

  • All Black Coach - Ian Foster

@98blueandgold said in [Poll] Next All Black Coach:

So disappointed Joseph (and Brown) are not going to be in running. They are both the most innovative and ready to take ABs into next direction but such is life.
Foster and Robertson..........meh, neither fills me with ABs head coach confidence but will prob go with Foster due to continuity however I just don't believe he is one.
Robertson I do not want running an ABs team, the guy is a tool! I have been at a few games in which he is watching his son is playing and he spends the whole game abusing the ref and other team! his personality is not one I think is suited to the ABs job.

    Is that for real?
It sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder about Robertson, but since you have personal knowledge of him abusing the ref and opposition kids I have to take your word for it.
That is very disappointing but a terrible rumor to start if not true.

I just can't wait for this Foster era to finally end. It would be comical if it didn't upset me off so much.
The one player to make an impact last game, lets just drop him.
Lets just pick safe guys who we have tried and failed with.

  • It’s Razor. Robertson New All Blacks coach.
  • D Darren

Thought that was a pretty positive interview posted

Seems like he is really looking ahead and maybe bring a little innovation. We have got really stale and been surpassed by a few countries now.

I'm excited to see what happens going forward. Will be interested to see who gets the super coaching jobs.

@KiwiMurph true he isn't exactly a pace man but so destructive and constructive- you can make plays off him, CC doesn't offer that

And covers center. So an ideal back reserve.
Roigard, dmac and LF would be a perfect back bench. Some real impact that can turn a game.

    Is this game indoors?

Things I would never have picked at the beginning of this year.

    1. BFA not in test 15, and perhaps not in test 23.
    2. Rieko Ioane on the outer.
    3. Reece and Bridge being our top two wingers.
    4. Ardie Savea playing at blindside.
    5. Jack Goodhue not being first choice 13.
    6. Scott Barrett and Patty T improving.
    7. Owen Franks not going to the World Cup.

JB starting a world cup test at 10, with TJ on the bench as reserve 10.
SBW and Crotty not injured yet.

  • All Blacks 2022

I'd just do the Blues 10,12,13. I think there is a lot to say for a combination of guys that train and play together.
Then have the option to move JB in case RTS is out of his depth, which I highly doubt.

so how did you guys discuss that back then to get that consensus, send one another letters? 😉 🎣

We used to wait for Terry McLean's new book to come out.

But seriously, in many ways I think there was better analysis in the media at that time than now. Much less, but better quality overall.

Yep and books and articles were written in a manner that didn't appear to be only to get reaction. Let's face it a pretty good percentage of posters on rugby orus wouldn't read books as there is often more then 2 paragraphs involved and that would stretch some's ability to concetrate, and most were written by people who actually attended games and spoke to playerscoaches/supporters etc.

    TLDR
