We need to know whether the boot was on the other foot last year when - despite the scoreboard - they inflicted one of the most comprehensive defeats I can remember.

We may have been running on fumes - but, also we may not have been.

Part of it was playing at the end of a long year, but we were very poor in the forwards anyway, Ireland were much better there so controlled the match... the key area for the ABs is the breakdown area where most of the possession is contested, in the first test we've got to be very aggressive at the breakdown from the start, have solid set pieces & hopefully our playmakers at halfback & 1st-five make good decisions.

I'll give you my bank account number & you can send me some of those ten of thousands then unfortunately all coaches tend to be too bloody loyal to players, so keep them on well past their best.

We're in position where we've got too many players in their early 30's, especially in the forwards... it's up to to coach to know when to drop some of the older players, also to know when to feed one or two new players into the team, otherwise we will have a lot of players retiring about the same time, with us ending up with a pretty inexperienced team.

Naturally you sum up how athletic a big bloke is first, that's a given... think Ioane & Papalii are similar in height & weight as loosies, obviously Ioane is a much better athlete & has better ball skills.

I would say they are not that much better than him at throwing in... not just the throwing in, it's the timing of the lifters as well, with the Canes wasn't easy for any of our hookers throwing in this year as Holland keep changing too many players per game.

We all know the excellent skill sets Aumua has, he's the closet we have to a Coles type of hooker... also a fair few in the squad haven't played that well in super rugby, but were still selected.
