Somehow I'm mates (spent a bit of time) with several high profile coaches in Oz, including the Oz assistant.

The attitude of " how good of a player were you" doesn't seem relevant to their work with the players. Bear in mind that these players have had scores of coaches throughout all their lives so the assessment of said coaches doesn't really rely on their past as players beyond the first week of contact.

Darren Berry one day explained to me the offer he was pursuing from the Auckland Aces. Low low money and with covid standing in the way of getting family to nz for a bit suggests that pretty much nz coaching staff must come from within, I'd suggest

But good luck Luke, like rapido says, he was a selfless player (mostly opened for WA) and our fielding was exemplary when he had the gloves - there's something in that.

The lads played an East Coast side on this weeks episode and then I see tonight that the East Coast Rising series kicked off which covers their 2021
Season. A pretty good watch really

@Virgil thats one of the saddest points...that that has to be said

does it really? The ones who would never do it already know it. Those that will won't care what you say

There's no middle ground "swing" deciders out there

In all honestly, if you aren’t a tech head or running some serious shit on Excel, you should be on Apple.

How do we define serious shit on Excel? I use it constantly in a Mac without issue whereas up until a few years ago I had to use a workaround on a PC to have two spreadsheets open side by side on my monitors, that always baffled the shit out of me ... but at least they fixed that.

Excel for Mac has limitations and differences in VBA abilities and Pivot Tables (at least it used to). Main issue is that if the workplace uses MS then you can avoid any potential conversion or compatibility problems. If you are only using Excel for your own purposes and not having to share then it is generally OK.

I, too am a dual system user. Mac for personal stuff as it is way easier to maintain (it just does what it does) and devices all talk to each other easily.
Windows for work related stuff, primarily for the compatibility reasons. Windows 10 and a Surface seemed great at first but did really annoying shit like demanding a update when you were in a hurry to do something or randomly switching screens around multiple monitors. Found that you need lots of RAM as well.

The only good thing about the conviction taking so long is that it means he will likely die in jail.

Andrew Little is probably trying to commute his sentence as we speak though.

    @mokey Agreed.

I tend to think the same about "Jailhouse Justice". The people meting it out are probably equally horrible bastards that I'd like to see on the receiving end.

It is much better if the State draws a hard line on all of these bastards.

Stupid that a non gold medal winning cyclist is rated above gold medal winners.

The All Whites got a Halberg for a series of draws. The quality of the competition has to play a part in the significance of the achievement.

    Yes, but.

The achievement has to come first IMO. Then the context.

If (using the other example) Lisa C gets an Olympic gold and WC in her chosen sport that trumps someone who makes a final in a higher profile sport straight away.
Someone who wins a higher profile, more prestigious event takes the position off her.

I understand the argument, but I do disagree. For me, the quality of the field is very important. That's why Olympic medals are more valued than Comm Games medals.

The argument for the 100m mens (and the frankly amazing achievements of Nick Porn Willis) are that the competition at that level is massively high - the pool of potential 100m runners in the world is basically everyone with a pulse and 2 legs. It is much much harder to compete at that level, than in other, more specialised events.

So, as I said before, the quality of the competition has to play a part in the significance of the acheivement. And yes, I was OK with the All Whites getting a Halberg - what they achieved was huge, and in a very very hard international field.

Normally when people have an intolerance, rather than an allergy, you are advised to cut food groups for a period of time and then gradually reintroduce them to see what happens. What are you by the way, FODMAP?

My better half has similar sounding symtoms. She has been wheat free for nearly 20 years and has had to swear off a few other food groups due to IBS. Try using almond milk instead of dairy. Rice Flour instead of Wheat Flour. I can bake quite well with that type of substitution. Can make pancakes, muffins, cakes etc. Its easier to make it yourself than think you are going to buy it.

Boxing instructor was in a really bad mood last night, whole lot of endurance/strength stuff. One 5 min stint: alternate leg kickboxing then squat kicks. Straight after that: camping squat/squat pulses/squat jumps. Another set one min left jab, then one min right cross, then two mins jab/cross/duck combo. Not to mention the 20 cross or upper then sprint sets.
I know it's a little late - but hey - you might have plateau-ed!

If you've got a bung knee and you're not keen to reveal all at the pool, look for this book - The Pilates Body - by Brooke Siler. Aerobic exercise is all good, but if you're aiming for lean - and you can cut out or cut down on breads and pastas - then this is a good option to explore. It comes with diagrams, and on page 50 it has a full floor workout. All you need is a mat and an hour at least 3 times a week.

I'm recommending the book - but obviously if you know someone with Windsor Pilates - then get into it. If you can commit - it's totally worth it.

Good luck
