It's become a bit uncomfortable the regularity that Hansen/Ted will trot out the 'better people make better All Blacks' line and talking about culture change before the 2004 EOYT being the crux of everything. Sure, they did away with some of the remnants of amateurism and provincialism in making things like court sessions voluntary - but the actual results aren't too flattering?
That isn't to call anyone a shit bloke, at the end of the day it's a random collection of men with the same flaws as the broader community. But that is... maybe the 5th domestic violence charge for an AB either in the midst or shortly after their AB career since Ted/Hansen made the big cultural changes? That's without the incidents where patrons, seals and pie shop windows were harmed.
Good team, good processes - but they need to stop talking it up because it's approaching the Australian cricket team's "we are the keepers of where the line is" stuff.
