Limited but committed midfielder who won a world cup as part of the best English team of all time.

Married a royal and spends his life travelling the world going to the races.

Sounds amazing.

I've had a few drinks with him over the years - great, genuine guy.

Ran into him after the 19 final in Japan and he had already had a couple of drinks and was about to jump into a taxi to head to some after party but a crowd of fans caught sight of him and he hung around for a good 10 minutes to sign autographs and chat with everyone. Just very down to earth and as you've said, aware of how lucky he's been.

Just out of interest, on the 2nd 5 front, anyone been watching Investic cup or URC/
I personally think Jordie Barrett is playing bloody well.
Although I also pretty keen to see how Quinn Tupaea goes this season.

I think Jordie needs a Rennie style coach - like when SBW moved to the Chiefs from the Crusaders and improved his game playing a more direct style.

Either Jordie can use his big frame or he can't, I'm unsure at the moment because I'm not sure that's what he's been instructed to do or if he even wants to play that style. Sometimes he looks like he's doing it, then other time he looks as awkward as he used to look at fullback.

and not for a second suggesting its convinced me...but make you think about the idea that players might actually learn something playing overseas, will wait to see if it translates to the black jersey though

I’m not usually one for white knighting either of those two but in their defence there’s been very little opportunity to impress given it’s still January
