I assume this would have been an Irish home game. Obviously this is all about making money, but remember NZR wanted to take one of the French home tests to the USA, and that would have been much worse.
No this is an outside of officially window extra. So both Ireland and NZ would be keen to go where ever the cash is highest, apart from pre RWC (etc) warm ups, that's why RUs do outside of window tests, to make money.

I think it's outside the International window, so don't think it was no home game for anyone. It's additional.

I had a quick look back various press releases and Bidwell appears an entrenched Mo'unga fan.
I kinda think Mo'unga has played enough for us to assess his international worth, he was great under Razor in the Crusaders, less so in the ABs but other Crusaders don't seem to be a million dollars better under our current coaches than under the last team. Have you looked through his articles on the Roar? He's essentially Mo and Razor's publicist, anti NZR, and anti certain players often disliked by other Cantabs (DMac, Ioane bros).
Him and Gregor Paul seem to have set themselves up as the edgelord anti NZ rugby journos.

@Darren Putting aside the ground can't meet the requirements, I believe outside of tournaments that they should be held in the country of one of the participants.
I genuinely don't see why Americans should get to see this fixture over Kiwis and the Irish.

Is it not a Grand Slam? Ireland are happy to head away from home for $$$; that's on them isn't it?

France go to NZ for a tour mid year so that’s fine not playing them. In terms of Scotland, we haven’t played Scotland since 2022 and they are a team heading in the right direction.
I like this tour, unsure how this can make someone think it shouldn’t be referred to as a grand slam.
