    Here's something to criticise/discuss. πŸ™‚

Marc Hinton and Paul Cully selected their AB team to play now. They've taken different approaches with JB, and there is some provincial bias. Neither chose Tele'a.

We have absolutely no idea how Razor will pick his squad

Well.... we have the three squads he picked last year.....

Yes - in his first year in the job. Most coaches in any sport through time in their first year, will stick with what was around, with sprinkling of what they already know.

As a fan it is somewhat frustrating, but it is also the easier way to build for the long term, because you develop a base.

I don’t know why people can’t comprehend that just picking 15 new players isn’t a good idea. I’m seriously meant to believe people would have accepted us getting hidings in South Africa?

Nice straw man argument. Who has suggested 15 new players?

My point more generally, is in my opinion, people are going overboard. The All Blacks issues are personnel problems, particularly in the loose forwards. We lack a big enforcer… we are crying out for a player like Harry Wilson. We lack an elite first five… McKenzie isn’t that, but he is probably the best we have - there’s no depth either.

We’re talking about fine margins here, and at the moment we don’t have the solutions… switching Ioane for Billy Proctor for example, in my opinion, wouldn’t make a difference, but if it did, it would be minimal.

Trying new players in certain positions probably makes us worse - not better.

Barring injuries, of the ABs XV who played France, is there anyone obvious who moves the needle on that team? Ruben Love is another example here. Might he be a good option if Jordan is to play on the wing? Maybe, but he hasn’t shown a level at Super Rugby to suggest he is a world-beater.

@Bovidae I don't like either of those teams.

I assume they have left out Wallace Sititi because he has been injured. DMac and Samipeni Finau are two other obvious names that they've both overlooked.

@Landers92 you'd hope with what Tangitau has shown, assuming he doesnt have a long term injury, he should leap a couple from last year.

Along with his power, he has that attribute you cannot coach; speed.

I can kinda see what they like about Fihaki, but gee, it is a pretty long shot hoping he is the rough diamond they see vs a lump of coal.

                  Seems like Lolagi Visinia II

Big boot, big frame, occasional good stuff but way too many errors. He shouldn't be a starter in a SR side

And Fihaki's defence is still a concern for me.

Hoskins Sotutu's massive hail Mary wouldn't have been talked about if Fihaki didn't burst out of the line and leave a massive gap for AJ Lam to stroll through, and that's to go with the other defensive errors he's made.

@george33 I guess the anticipation of it all has changed? Think it was Izzy dagg or Cruden? once found out on the radio same time as everyone else then received the call from Shand & Henry, now in 2025 George you have the the bolters two months in advance!

@Grooter not my doing, more from Crusaders contact, saying Fihaki will be in squad, and makes sense really, he was in the background last season, now Talea moving on, choices are ?, wing , fullback, .

I suspect those that want Razor to fail are the marginal 'fans' that are not unlike those who wanted Henry to fail after ousting Deans.

Vast majority of fans want him to succeed, want him to return us to the top of the pile, and last year, he made it hard with some calls many saw as bias or bonkers, there will always be some provincial lines that blur calls too.

I'd say this year will give us a much better picture of whether he is upto the task or not, if we cant start to climb back up after the slide that started around 2016/2017, might be time to start supporting the Warriors.... πŸ˜‰

I have a nagging feeling we may reach the bottom this year, heaven forbid may even lose at Eden Park and handover the Bledisloe also.

Just feel like we need some new blood/ bolters to get in this year to be up there again for WC27

Wait, aren't the entire country already supporting the Warriors and no one is supporting rugby, or have the media been lying to me the last two years?

To your original point are there people who want Razor to fail? Being disappointed in his first year, especially considering the hype train around him and being disappointed with his selections don't necessarily transition to wanting him to fail. I think we all want him to succeed, and quite frankly shut the fuck up about the overrated 10 playing overseas.

As to those teams, a lot of yuck in those. Weird that uber Cantab Hinton is in the pro Sotutu camp though. Also Cully selecting Barrett at 6, he hasn't even been outstanding at lock this year (yes I know he had one really good game, but lets not pretend he's had a good season so far - hopefully he's saving himself for the tests) and a certain match in 2019 with a much younger version shows the folly of playing him there.

BB must have incriminating photos of all the journos in NZ, they're all his marketing team.

Vast majority of fans want him to succeed, want him to return us to the top of the pile, and last year, he made it hard with some calls many saw as bias or bonkers, there will always be some provincial lines that blur calls too.

I'd say this year will give us a much better picture of whether he is upto the task or not, if we cant start to climb back up after the slide that started around 2016/2017, might be time to start supporting the Warriors.... πŸ˜‰

Wait, aren't the entire country already supporting the Warriors and no one is supporting rugby, or have the media been lying to me the last two years?

Well that's good news to wake up to, seeing Fihaki's fate sealed by the harbinger of this is definitely going to happen. Meaning it's extremely unlikely to happen.

Those teams are also hilarious, especially the one that thinks Razor is going to up and change his captain.

Marc Hinton and Paul Cully selected their AB team to play now. They've taken different approaches with JB, and there is some provincial bias. Neither chose Tele'a.
