In my opinion the loose forward balance missed Blackadder greatly, either starting or off the bench.

Great call. You can never have too much ineffectiveness in a team

Other than his patented 5 minutes per game highlights reel, I tend to include Ardie in that mix

    For us -
    Excellent - Jordie
Good - CLW looked pretty busy, Holland (though doe go to ground easily for a big man), Ardie, Roigard, Newell.
    Questionable - Rieko, Proctor, Finau

    *Poor - Proctor

Well done France, put a few commentators in thier box about disrespect.

An ugly win win is still a win, some very promising stuff, but equally some concerning stuff too

It still would have been disrespect if they had of won.

A squad of dirt trackers, are dirt trackers regardless of the result.

@Canes4life Generally true, but even I thought Billy Prcotor was poor tonight.

I know the point you're making, but some of the most physical rugby I've seen was during the NZ only Super during Covid.

See how far you've slipped? 😬

I know your point you're making, but we're a few years beyond that and IMHO the lessons learned are being diluted.

Because what else happened around COVID Time? Saffer teams stopped playing Super Rugby. So you were just coming off that experience, and no shock you were still at a high level in physicality terms.

The NZ Rugby machine has gone into a cycle of what works for regular games against our sides: pace and precision. You're more physical than ours by dint of a larger playing pool and systems that haven't eroded as much as ours (yet). You simply don't need to try to outmuscle us, because you're doing it by default.

Geez squeaky bum time. James Doleman man of the match for France for sure.

Unless I'm missing something, the TMO was Brett Cronin?

No Damon Murphy was Cronin was there to judge whether YCs would be updated. must be a new thing.

Makes sense for the yellow cards under review - TMO can't be everywhere, tho it feels like it some times.

Surely you start him again, it’s literally his first start. He’ll only going to get better as he gets more comfortable.

He started vs Fiji last year didn't he?

So did Billy Proctor do anything that Rieko wouldn't have done at centre? Like, I'm sure he'll get another go there, but I was underwhelmed by what I saw of him.

Roigard was good, Lio-Willie looked alright (probably the best of the newbies), unsure about Finau and Kirifi, happy to see them persevered with for a bit, but Kirifi looked well undersized out there (as we expected), Ardie
is such a weird player.....carries plenty, and well, but it's weird that he has 7 on his back as he certainly does not play like one, tight 5 were largely good (including the bench), BB and DMac had theur moments, Jordie had a solid outing and Rieko went alright in the first half, cold in the 2nd.

I think they run it back with most of them. We're always rusty first up.

Are the TMOs on commission for spotting errors leading up to All Blacks tries? I can wear the Newell knock-on and Proctor not controlling the ball on the line, but the ruling on the third Jordan try was dodgy. Anyone thinking this is just paranoia needs to read Ian Foster’s biography. World Rugby is corrupt. And it has everything to do with the weight of money in the north.

Oh yup you’re correct. He just needs time, he’s classy enough to bounce back. He’s shown he’s the best centre in New Zealand, just needs to put it all together. No better chance at home next week.

Yeah that Jordan no try was a joke.

@Canes4life I love Billy to bits, but I fear he flunked it tonight on the big occasion.

Quinn Tupaea should start at 13 next week IMHO.

I thought the obstruction call was much clearer than the knock on by proctor

I’ll be very surprised if Proctor doesn’t start in Welly. The last thing you want to do is ruin a young players confidence by dropping him after one test. If he doesn’t perform next week then fair enough.

I thought the disallowed try on Proctor was harsh, he did bloody well to get to the line there.
