Barry Lyndon
A three hour Stanley Kubrick movie from 1975 set in the 18th century. Now lots of people think this is a masterpiece of cinematography and lighting. That may be true, but the acting is wooden (especially Ryan O'Neal) and the entire plot is not helped by a pace that would make a sloth a 100m final contender.
Also no tits which is a crime for "high art eighteenth century" film.

The Commuter.
Liam Neeson plays Liam Neeson, again. It's an easy watching, enjoyable, action flick. When it got to the last scene, I realised i'd seen it before, so I guess it could probably also be referred to as forgettable.

That movie was released in 2018. I was sure it came out at least 5 years earlier.
Workman-like, but definitely one of the better late period Neeson movies.
Wow, really thought it came out around the same time as his Air Marshall movie (apparently 2014).

I'm a Kubrick fan but have to agree wholeheartedly. Barry Lyndon is a technical tour-de-force with no soul

Caged Heat 1974.
Jonathan Demme's satirical take on 70's sexploitation films. Deliberately bad acting and script with an Incredibly high tit-watch - and an absolutely hoot to watch. Bloody hilarious.

Can confirm my experiences in first class were nothing like that.
I do recall a transtasman flight on QANTAS where we were sitting right at the front of cattle class and we had a dedicated small screen as you couldn't see the main one. This screen wasn't working so we were given a complimentary bottle of bubbles.
Then they ran out of time to finish the movie on the main screens. Pretty sure all those people till don't know if Seabiscuit won. But who cares we had bubbly.
Also, in the 90s we used fax machines.

I once saw The Bone Collector the wrong way around. Started 15 mins from the end and finished at the same place. Thought it was some weird David Lynch/Tarantino co-production.

The new Naked Gun movie looks a bit shit.
I hope I’m wrong.
However I heard on the radio today that it’s not a remake like I thought but it’s actually a sequel.
Has anyone ever made a sequel where ALL the main actors from the first movie ( Leslie Neilsen, George Kennedy, OJ Simpson, Anna Nicole Smith, Fred Ward, Priscilla Presley ) are dead ?
Does anyone know ?

They had amazing rapport as a deadpan comedy duo
EDIT: Priscilla Presley is still alive, it was Lisa Marie who died

Heads of State
Amazon flick with Idris Elba & John Cena.
Classic popcorn flick, really entertaining, fast movie, with Elba & Cena both absolutely nailing their characters as the PM & President. Not in a statesman like way, but in a piss take type the way which is the essence of the movie. FX budget probably needed a bit more, but good, fun, easy watching with good dialogue and quality, if not somewhat far fetched, plot line.

Kubrick is a bit of a blind spot for me, I don't really get him as a director. My favourite films of his is Paths to Glory and Dr Strangelove - black and white Kubrick.
Anyway, saw Nobody 2 today, it was fine, if you liked the first one you'll like this one. The director is the guy who made the superior Indo film The Night Comes for Us, so there are some good in close action scenes.
On my flights to NZ and Raro I decided to watch all NZ films, so watched Tinā, Cousins, We Were Dangerous and The Haka Party Incident about the Auckland engineering haka.. All were good, but Cousins probably best for me.
I also watched the Scotty Morrison Origins documentary series when I finished the movies.

Interminably boring, just like COVID
Lasted 55 mins then binned it. From the trailer there seems to be a modicum of action but must be after my turn off time
Come to the conclusion that anything with Emma Stone in it is hyped far beyond it's actual entertainment rating
Look forward to someone saying differently

Ok so sat on a plane for a few hours
The thunderbolts - Marvel franchise. Actually best one I have seen for a while, bringing together some fringe characters in a well done way.
4 evil cushions out of 5 avengerzBlack Bag - spy drama by S. Soderbergh. A bit slow, some predictability but still entertaining enough and worth the watch. Fassbenders character is odd to the point of you think he could be a serial killer though

Minecraft the movie- yeah I wanted something I could potentially sleep too. Kids movie that was quite funny though in parts with some unexpected sexual innuendos making me lol. Based on the kids game with mamoa and jack black.

28 Years Later
Could very well have been a movie in its own right, but as it trades off the '28-franchise' it gets rated against them, that it will always struggle with.
All that being said, I did enjoy it for what it was, and was interesting with the 'evolution' of the Virus as well.

It didn't capture my attention and TBH I was quite bored by it. Like you said it could've (and probably should've) been a standalone.
