Can we trust Rassie? Is this really going to be their matchday 23 or will he pull a last minute selection suprise? If RG Snyman is not injured then his non selection is perplexing. He's one of the best impact tight forwards in the world.

Boks locks are either steroid freaks or massive Vikings.

Nortje looks like a runt compared to them.

Was feeling pretty confident, then clicked on a video of Mr Corporate Speak Scott Hansen.
He may well be a very good coach, but by god he doesn't come across well in interviews.

Gut-feeling this test comes down to how the Barrett brothers go. If they don’t turn up, we are toast - and I think it is the beginning of the end for Beauden and Scott if they don’t

Scooter is Robertson's man and Robertson is Mark Robinson's man.

        Can't see him being dropped.

I think with Holland on the bench there is nowhere to hide. The fact that Darry is also smashing the door down in the NPC will only add to the noise.

Every player has a used by date - I don’t think Robertson is stupid.

I’m not suggesting S Barrett is done either, but after an underwhelming start to the year, if he fires a blank and we lose, someone’s head is going to have to roll, and he along with Scott Hansen and Jason Holland looks like an onvious one.

You can't get away from the cliche that forwards are more important than backs and we have a great set of forwards.
BB is going to have a massive impact on this game hopefully in a positive way. The biggest mistake will be shovelling crap ball to his brother. on the outside.

He may be a better player now than them but arguably Jordie has more competition for his spot.

The best solution to NZ Rugby seems to be to sack everyone and appoint Wayne Smith.

He is a failure as an administrator (HB CEO) and as an AB head coach

He was a pretty good coach for the Black Ferns (12 wins in a row I think?), Crusaders and Chiefs.. oh and Northampton Saints + Kobe Steelers Director of Rugby..

Well apart from that what has Wayne Smith ever done for us

That deserved so much more love. Some people need to review their Python ( nudge, nudge, wink, wink say no more).

I don't know if Razor is Robinson's man. I think Razor held his and NZR's feet to the fire and he caved in rather than run the risk of him running overseas

According to people like Joe Schmidt & Gilbert Enoka he very much was.

"It was shambolic....Robbo had made it quite clear that he backed Razor. That’s who he wanted, it was a matter of time and whenever he could, he put the boot into us. The group never felt supported at all from the CEO. It was challenging and Foz .. bore the brunt of a lot of it. It was embarrassing really when you saw it, someone in that position and the lack of support they gave the head coach".

Thanks for clarifying. Coupled with Silverlake, the SRP COVID fiasco, Robinson won't be missed then.

Not by the likes of Hansen, Enoka, Schmidt and Foster, no. If his departure opens the door to them coming back into the NZR fold, it will be a good thing.

Equally, with Robertson under pressure, it at least gives him some stability - which has to be a good thing.

I was gutted when Schmidt left the ABs. If he carried on, we would be far better team than we are now

Schalk Burger jr says the boks will lose this match. I would agree with that. Coming off a shock loss to the pumas, the ABs will be very hard to beat.
I’m going with 23-19 to the ABs

Gunna be interesting with Sititi and Savea as wide ranging loosies, SA will go straight through middle.

Sititi isn’t really wide ranging defensively though.

@ACT-Crusader I don’t think he plays as tight defensively as we need. It’s his first big game back we don’t and we don’t want him hesitating against the boks! His combo with Parker could be good if they work together and let Ardie range wide.

The backlash to a loss used to be real, but sadly it isn't anymore. Part of the culture change towards learnings and lack of accountability and such other bullshit.
Boks have not been very flash and we're at home, so I'd say it's about evens.

Not a prediction, more a gut feel,

Boks leave with a 1-1 result, and the abs play out of their skins and win a close one this week with all the hype , then back up poorly and lose in Wellington . Just feels like the way this team rolls .

It's going to be one of the most evenly contested clashes in a while. Could be epic.

Both teams will be hurting after playing pretty badly and will be desperate for a good win. My gut tells me a close AB win or a sizeable SA one.

The last time South Africa beat NZ at Eden park, an old collegian Philip Nel was the skipper. That might be the reason Jesse Kriel retains the captaincy… he’s an old collegian.. sounds like a Rassie type thing to do.

@Victor-Meldrew funny, my gut says more or less the opposite.

I can only see the ABs losing a close one.

Expect the Boks to treat this like a final. Rassie’s Boks have bombed a fair few games they should’ve won. But they’ve always found a way to win the big ones. And they just don’t come any bigger than this to Rassie, his players or to us lowly bok fans.

My gut says that they will slowly choke the life out of the ABs but never put it beyond doubt. Frankly, because your boys are too good for us to put a real hurt on (no matter how much we owe you one.)

Of course, all of this is dependent on Marx not getting two bullshit yellows.

                                        Have to agree entirely.

Marx will be offset by us getting two fully warranted yellows, don’t worry.

I think Boks game mgmt will be too strong for us. We do have a habit of winning these sort of games, but I’m just not sold on this core part with this team.

We have the players, but not the game.

                                          I dunno.

Hope I'm wrong, but I fear the Boks putting together a complete performance while we are still building tean-wise
