@jimmyb you can play Tupaea for 45 and Jordie for 35 and not lose a huge amount. His hard carries would be a useful tactical variation.

Starting outside DMac would be a good opportunity to ask QT to show us how he can play a mature game.

And without JB as lynchpin perhaps they’d pass a bit more to Proctor.

Rassie has developed depth by letting his newer players have some responsibility. It’s worked well.

I’d personally like to see some calculated risk taking with selection.

Start Tupaea at 12 and bench Jordie. He can come in at business end. Gains some valuable minutes and we get to see what he can do starting.

Likewise, start Lakai at 7, with RD at 8. Perhaps rest Wally and have Luke J on bench.

Jordie was the second best player on the pitch. No sure we ever want to bench him. Tupaea has a serious case of hero ball and needs that to be fixed before he gets regular minutes.

I had to look that up and I'm even more baffled after seeing the supposed meaning.

As in he’d rather go for glory than putting in a sensible pass or put his team mates into space. He did it a few times on the weekend, numerous people pointed it out, and was a serial offender during SR

    There’s risk taking and there’s borderline stupidity…..

We don’t have too many backs in decent form and Jordie is one that is. Plus I wouldn’t want to have DMac starting without Jordie as a playmaking option.

If Clarke doesn’t recover they could start Love at fullback with Jordan and Carter on the wings.

Huh, not something I've noticed. He has a habit of making big plays though.

Only change I can see to the backline would be McKenzie starting at 10. Suspect Ioane will come onto the pine in place of Tupaea if there's any concern around Clarke's fitness.

Alternative, if Clarke is injured, would be sticking to a similar backline that finished the last match: Roigard, McKenzie, Carter, Tupaea, Proctor, Jordan, Barrett. That inspires me a bit more than having Ioane/Reece on one of the wings, and would give Tuapea a deserved second start of the season at 12. Not sure Razor is adventurous enough, however.

Be an interesting selection this week. The corresponding fixture last year was diabolical in terms of building for the future: in were TJP, BB, ALB. FFS.
I'd leave the backs alone. McKenzie in is a big change by itself, and based on last week the rest of the backs deserve another shot outside him.
Forwards I dunno. I'm kind of resigned to us being dominated in the loose forwards, which is pretty sad. I just don't think we have the squad balance right there. Holland is a must for me, because we can at least ensure good lineout ball.

Didn't Tupaea come on as a wing on the weekend and handle himself well? I don't see the need for the change.

The media is hammering the loss of Beauden Barrett and virtually what a tragedy it is.
Do they really not watch games it is a blessing in disguise.

It’s time for the D-Mac era to commence. Just give him the keys and get out of the way. Old mate Blueben Dove can have a taste off the bench.

It’s a weird scenario with so many Allblacks supporters ( not just here ) predicting a loss against a team ranked much lower than us .

Usually we can be accused of being overconfident and arrogant, but the self belief with supporters has hit rock bottom.

We are gun shy from the top down.

    Our CEO was/is gun shy.

    Our coach is gun shy.

    Our 10 is gun shy.

    Our captain is gun shy.

There are an ever increasing number of players who deserved a decent shot and weren’t really given one…Fakatava, Stevenson, Sotutu, Laumape, AJ Lam. To an extent Ruben Love and Tavatavanawai are in that bracket now.

There are/will be way more Allblack centurions than there should be…

You get 100 caps for the Allblacks now for being a good man in the dressing room.

    It’s the civil service.

Harder to be dropped than picked.
