because his reasoning about the slight drop in pace was sound.

I don't think it was sound at all. He was still the best fullback in the country at the time. If there were better fullbacks then his reasoning might have been sound. Blanco had a number of good years for France after his pace and flair had a slight drop.

Can someone please remind me who played 15 when we lost to Australia in 2003? IIRC MacDonald was chosen as first choice but he played in the MF.

Mils was at fullback. What was extra silly about that was that Mils played most of the season for the Blues at centre, yet they put Rangi in the centre and kept Mils at the back.

Was it that silly though when Mils had played most of the AB season at fullback and they wanted to keep the Blues back 3 in tact. @canefan Rangi wasn’t first choice fullback in 2003. Him being played at centre wasn’t an issue against the Boks in the QF

Another obvious area that needs fixing is the defence coach

Craig McGrath has been the Blues defence coach for 4 seasons. Tackle success compared to the other NZ franchises in that period: 1st, 2nd, 1st, 1st

would love to see the AB;s become a brick wall

something that ive noticed for the last couple of year...we dont hit the ball at pace, everyone is trotting or even stationary...same on defence, we're very passive on the advantage line

England were throwing them selves into contact fearlessly

Yes, it was. Mils was a better centre than Rangi and Rangi was probably as good a fullback as Mils.

Nonsense. We should move Jordan to 13 and Proctor to 15.

And I already noted during super season that Jordan with his extra size should be looking at centre. Boy has a great swerve, can hit a line and it's not like his distribution would be worse than any incumbents.

Really, really good player. If he played against the ABs Scotland would have.......

....more than likely still found a way to fuck things up and lose.

His try scoring and kicking metres are atrocious. Needs to be both sides of the ball.

It will be interesting to see how that Razor sycophant Bryn Hall spins the Twickenham debacle on ARP shortly. Parsons is also generally loathe to put the boot in
