because his reasoning about the slight drop in pace was sound.

I don't think it was sound at all. He was still the best fullback in the country at the time. If there were better fullbacks then his reasoning might have been sound. Blanco had a number of good years for France after his pace and flair had a slight drop.

Can someone please remind me who played 15 when we lost to Australia in 2003? IIRC MacDonald was chosen as first choice but he played in the MF.

Mils was at fullback. What was extra silly about that was that Mils played most of the season for the Blues at centre, yet they put Rangi in the centre and kept Mils at the back.

    A cautionary tale

Nonsense. We should move Jordan to 13 and Proctor to 15.

And I already noted during super season that Jordan with his extra size should be looking at centre. Boy has a great swerve, can hit a line and it's not like his distribution would be worse than any incumbents.

Really, really good player. If he played against the ABs Scotland would have.......

....more than likely still found a way to fuck things up and lose.

His try scoring and kicking metres are atrocious. Needs to be both sides of the ball.

It will be interesting to see how that Razor sycophant Bryn Hall spins the Twickenham debacle on ARP shortly. Parsons is also generally loathe to put the boot in

Just started watching, but not sure I'm gonna last. Parsons Parkes and Hall dodge the big issues of selection and coaching, praise England and pinpoint our issues to individual mistakes as opposed to system errors. I used to enjoy this show but they are a waste of an hour this week

Bryn thinks we've been improved in a number of areas compared to last season, but only let ourselves down in two tests. Jesus wept

I've switched off. So painful to watch those guys squirm as they try to justify what's going on. Parsons even trotted out the Who are we going to get in to help? The dynamics within a group are complicated, it's not a simple situation. FFS

Parsons trying to deflect with his stats. It would be good if Ross Karl asked some harder, more critical, questions too.

Nothing to suggest Robertson hasn't got the people he wanted from the start, but with the shambles that is NZR, who knows?

Yes there is, he wanted Tony Brown. You can find sources online.

If we wanted Tony Brown, they should have chosen Jamie Joseph. The fact that Brown went to SA probably says a lot about how other coaches - outside the Crusaders - feel about working with Razor.

My concern is who they could get to come in who would actually be better than what we have...

It's well known that Razor rejected any other role than Head Coach with his team.

Although I believe we need new assistants and we do need change, I'm not sure that we should be looking to change over the assistants - will a new attack coach with no international experience be any better amongst this team than what we have?

The correct strategic choice for the new CEO of NZRU is to do a complete evaluation of the current team.

My recall is Tony Brown believed accepting would not be loyal to Joseph, don't know what he actually thought of Razor et al.
But then he went to work for the Boks...

Tony Brown and Joe Scmidt. have both actively sought to hurt NZ rugby and the All Blacks by working to get high level opponents to the level they can beat us when their were roles on offer in NZ rugby. Can't understand why so many NZ rugby fans have any respect for this. They are not they answer.

Vern Cotter like Graham Henry only coached also rans who where no real threat to the All Blacks, same with Jamie Joseph. These are the guys we should be looking to not a couple of mercenaries who sell out to the highest bidder.
