It would be a ruthless (and expensive) move by Kirk and co.

In other words, the ethos that used to synonymous with the All Blacks. Long overdue, and yes it also needs to be applied to the players performance.

For January in NZ, rugby is suddenly red hot.

    For all the wrong reasons

however if the review laid out that it was a complete shitshow then this is the most high-performance move made by NZRU in a very long time,

Yeah. A tour of South Africa with the current coaches in charge just feels like something to hide from watching. Whereas it should be all consuming.

Hopefully change is on the way

Yep paying out 3 coaches for 2 years

It depends if they have meet all the standards required of them in their contracts. There's scenarios where payouts wouldn't be needed

If Robertson is sacked, the pressure on the next coach will be enormous to get better results. If the next coach loses the South Africa tour, loses the Bledisloe, loses the Eden Park streak, then what does NZR do? Don’t just assume Jamie Joseph will be the saviour of the All Blacks. Coaching Japan where you’re not expected to win, versus coaching the All Blacks where you’re expected to win every game is different level of pressure.

Not paying them out maybe very tricky for NZR.The meet all standards would have to be outlined in their contracts in great detail,
not always the case in NZ sporting contracts.

It will bring massive pressure in a very tough year ahead for a new coach.

Would love to see Cotter involved, he would help keep some of the more senior players on a shorter leash I think

Like whom? The absolute absence of details doesn't embue me with confidence. On the contrary it reads like someone just putting rambling thoughts to paper.

@antipodean just saying what I've been told by different people.
Leon McDonald's has been mentioned along with Tony Brown and Barnes.
How it plays out not sure.

Brown would be awesome McDonald a firm no from me he would add nothing he really hasn’t achieved anything as a coach.
Both have contracts longer than 1 year in other countries they could be hard gets.
Barnes sorry ? not sure who we are talking about.unless It is Neil Barnes that would a stretch another coach with not a lot of success not even a head coach at SR level.
