I've not really got any thoughts on the Vonn incident, but I find it amusing Ric Flair is being put forward as someone to listen to.

New event, Men's Team Combined (1 skier does Downhill, 1 skier does Slalom) where times are combined.
Another Swiss Gold for Franjo Van Allmen and first for Nef
Odermatt and Meillard (SUI) joint second with the Austrians Kriechmayr and Feller

I think they should make this a relay with a transition near the lift. First onto the chair gives a massive advantage!

Lindsay Vonn was interviewed post-accident. She reckons the ACL had no bearing on her accident. I don't know enough about skiing to know if that can be true. I guess the knee doesn't move as much as running. But it still has to support the body and take all that force as you cover the uneven terrain
-
it's worth noting that this wasn't her first ski at the games, they had practice runs, and Vonn was 3rd fastest.

Was that after sustaining the ACL injury?
-
yeah she entered the games with that injury
-
She posted online earlier today stating it was her error and not the ACL injury that caused the crashed
She wrote she was 5 inches too tight in her line, clipping the gate.that left leg of hers must just be a throbbing mess of pain and will be for some time

must be throbbingYou know back in the day on the Fern if you posted something like this you’d be asking for trouble
I guess we are all grown up nowAnyway nice to see NZ on the medal table and the Aussies not

I was convinced by this explanation
But since she said she just fucked up...

Shiffrin is human
4th in the Women's combined after Breezy Johnson finished first in the downhill section

watched the cross country sprint which looks a hard as fuck day unless your name is Klaebo. Or you are a Swedish woman.
Then the mens Biathlon 20km which is cool and in a beautiful spot. How was old mate getting bronze, and then in his words committing social suicide in the post race interview by admitting he told his missus a week ago he cheated on her, and they broke up? bro
Of course a Norwegian won that as well -

Have to feel sorry for his partner -
the Biathlon is probably my favourite event of the games but whoever the female commentator is, she is the probably the most annoying commentator of any sport. Absolutely doing my head in.

Franjo Van Allman of Switzerland takes the Men's Super G Gold medal, his third gold of the Games.
Only the third man to achieve this
Toni Sailor 1956 (Cortina)
Jean Claude Killy 1968 (Grenoble)Only Croatia's Janica Kostelic has achieved the feat in women's skiing, at the 2002 Salt Lake City Games
-
Matt Weston gets GB’s first medal of the Games
And it’s Gold
Men’s Skeleton
Dominant

Klaebo equals the record for most winter golds at 8. He still has 3 more events apparently.
