In the SW universe all Imperials are terrible shots with piss weak impact. All Rebel Scum shoot with the accuracy of Ron Jeremy and instinctively know the weak spots.
This year we will witness the miraculous improvement in blaster use by Finn and the Han Solo movie may go in depth to explain how this phenomenon occurs.
