I was at a gig last night and halfway through a song the band morphed it into the Batman theme as homage. Went down well with the crowd.

@Nepia I was going to post it at smoko but couldn't figure out which thread it belonged in. We need a dedicated feral watch thread.

It's a great find wherever it's put. Why didn't her solicitors ever say "no mate you're on a hiding to nothing. Give it a rest and take your medicine"? Oh yeah, legal aid. Gotcha.

Legal aid pays fuck all so the legal advice probably amounted to "you're fucked, all we can do is mitigate the damage", but a) the lawyer's job is to represent the client as instructed, and b) keeping prosecutors honest is a worthy aim, and relies heavily on legal aid since many people can't afford serious lawyers at $300+/hr. Even fuckwits have legal rights to protect.

Agree on the last sentence . She's on a hiding to nothing though.

Here's her story, she's had an incredibly shit run in life and has very bad taste in men .http://www.cpag.org.nz/assets/Publications/3-0 Kathryn's Story-web.pdf

@Godder Oh, I agree in principle that even fuckwits have legal rights to protect. I just can't get my head around something like this going to the Supreme Court. Did the woman involved come up with that idea on her own, or was she encouraged to do so? If so, to what end?

Bloody hell, I fucking love that guy. Was obsessed with Linkin Park back in the day, and still listen to their stuff from time to time. Very sad.... RIP.

Apparently this song is understandably popular at young people's funerals

I always thought Linkin Park were shit so in one sense this death means nothing but the old 'millionaire rock star with the dream life leaving 6 kids etc' whingers come out in force every time this happens.

Goes to show mental health doesn't discriminate. It effects every single type.

That spark that creates brilliance can be a knife edge. Some times I'm grateful for my less exciting existence.

James Hefield said once if a metal band had a k where a c should be that means they were shit . Having said that LP were a cut above Korn and Limp Bizkit.

According to the press he had a history of mental health issues which probably meant he never really got to enjoy the lifestyle his money bought him.

Both those groups did at least a couple of decent tracks but the early 2000s was a pretty dark period for rock music.

It used to be that drinking yourself to death or ODing was more appropriate for the rock 'n' roll lifestyle but not anymore.

Being the STP singer is obviously a curse.

Haha, fair enough. LP were miles ahead of Korn and Limp Bizket (who were truly terrible) mainly thanks to how outrageously talented Chester was. Those other two bands didn't have anyone on his level.

I'll add George A Romero to the list, the father of zombie movies.

Night of the Living Dead is a classic.
