    I saw it in 3D, and it was fine. Might be my last film in 3D though, it's a waste of time, and the trailer I saw in 2D had more detail. <br />
    <br />
    Not enough plot IMO, although I agree with Luigi that was comforting in a way to return to the world. Gollum was the highlight by far.

    No. Thought I was but my local Vue doesn't have the technology.

    I'm not a fan of 3D (nor is TR Jnr) I'll only be watching it in 2D, think they have some ways to go to make 3D a proper cinema experience IMO.

    Little TA #2 does dance classes and every year for the Christmas thing they hire a movie theatre and we get to see a pre-release. This year was Wreck-It Ralph (not due out here until Boxing Day).<br />
    <br />
    Bloody good as usual for a big studio animation and as my kids are well into video games they were, in short, amazed to see Sonic wandering around. I had a chuckle at old school references like Q-Bert and pacman too

    Argo<br />
    <br />
    Was really keen to see this one and had to hunt it down in NZ movies as I missed it on general release (finally found it at Tauranga Rialto). I was a bit worried it didn't live up to the good reviews it got but I thought it was great film. The drama was good, the odd bits of comedy was good and the thriller was thrilling.<br />
    <br />
    It's getting a bit of flack for not being 100% truthful, but I don't care about that - it tells most of the story and I've now read up about it which I wouldn't have done if this film didn't exist.<br />
    <br />
    Ben Affleck should have started directing years ago, I think he's a bloody good director, he also seems to direct himself as an actor better than most directors as well (from his lean period).<br />
    <br />
    I reckon I'd give it a 9/10, it's definitely in my top 10 for 2012.

    Agree Nepia. I really enjoyed Argo, the pacing of the movie was great and the humour mixed in with the tension worked really well. It'd be in my top 5 for the year. <br />
    <br />
    Also did the same regarding reading about it afterwards. Was pretty cool reading about NZ's involvement. <br />
    <br />
    I went and saw Skyfall the day after and didn't really like it at all. Would be pretty hard to follow after Argo though.

    Deadfall - Eric Bana, Olivia Wilde, Charlie Hunnam (Jax Teller) Kris Kristofferson<br />
    <br />
    Ok thriller/drama about a brother and sister who rob a casino and end up on the run, Olivia Wilde is pretty tidy...<br />
    <br />
    Ted - as expected, maybe noto as funny as I hoped it'd be, but for the most part it was fine, bonus points for Ms. Kunis

    Olivia Wilde is very tidy indeed and not in nearly enough.<br />
    <br />
    I thought Ted was shit. It was hyped by a few mates and fell flat for me.

    Rise of the Guardians - saw it in 3d with the wife and kids (her 5 and him 😎 tonight. Got to say it was pretty amazing - he got home and dressed up as Jack Frost while she did her best tooth fairy. They are enamoured of the whole thing, and so are their parents.<br />
    <br />
    Older, more cynical kids may not enjoy it.

    Chronicle, 3 teenagers stumble across a hole in the ground with some mysterious object.It does some weird shit and they end up with 'super powers'<br />
    All filmed via handy cam style, one of the 3 is your typical weird awkward carried a video camera everywhere he goes type teenager.<br />
    You only see what he films himself or from ctv or other video cam footage.<br />
    They start out enjoying the abilities to do shit with their minds (including the ability to fly) But turns to shit by the end.<br />
    I enjoyed it, predictable but some pretty decent CGI and the flying sequences i thought were very well done.<br />

    I watched two comedies on the weekend, one far better than the other.<br />
    <br />
    "The Campaign" with Zach Galifianakis and Wil Ferrell, just taking the piss out of American politics. I laughed my ass off many, many times in this movie (including my new favourite "your momma..." joke). Brian Cox's nanny is a highlight.<br />
    <br />
    But then "Ted" let me down a bit. Yea, i laughed in places, but not that hard really. Mila Kunis is not that hot.

    To be fair though once the initial laughs of if foul mouthed pot smoking horny bear wore off the other half of the movie was shit.

    I wouldn't kick her out of the bed, but she'd have to ask nicely to be there in the first place.

    Ye gods, the ticking time bomb trope. Fuck me that was bad. And trains! What is it with fucking trains? Even in Skyfall there's a fight on top of a train. Nobody fights on top of a train. It's not possible. And yet directors and stunt coordinators continue to insist on train-top combat in defiance of the laws of physics and self-preservation.<br />
    <br />
    Octopussy was bad, but The Living Daylights is just awful. Timothy Dalton's Bond might as well have been renting his arse out in Old Compton Street he was that much of a man. In a scene with Maryam d'Abo he says they have to get out of town. She says she has to go home and get her cello first. Cut to the next scene of Dalton waiting for her in a car outside her flat. Call me old fashioned but a real Bond would have smacked her in the mouth, fucked her sideways and then dumped her in the boot with her knickers for a gag.<br />

    Brilliant.<br />
    <br />
    But Moores first two efforts were his best, he was actually pretty ruthless, surprisingly so. In "Live and Let die" blatantly nailing the black chick and then pointing a gun at her for information then in "Man with the Golden Gun" threatening to break the Swedish chicks arm. Despite the bad puns and slighly dodgy fight scenes he was much more hardass than people gave him credit for.
