    12 months sounds about right - Aus are playing fuck all cricket in the next 6 months relatively speaking so I think 6 month bans would have sounded tough but in reality been criticized for not being long enough.

    I doubt the bans are on the grounds of the act itself.
    It is difficult to argue that they didn't bring Australian Cricket into disrepute. Doesn't matter if you think there was a public over-reaction, the proof is in the pudding.
