Just had a wager of a box of beers with Irish tractor driver who turned up to mow silage.

Look. Tana and BOD have buried the hatchet and are sharing a laugh.

      Next on Tana's list are @Kirwan and @Duluth 😉

Both wearing Guinness shirts , is it genuine, looks like the shooting of an ad ?

Look at the veins in BODs right arm. Looks like he's rubbing one out

BOD should be thanking Tana and Kev. Thanks to that incident, BOD is the only person from that Lions squad to come out of the tour with their reputation actually enhanced.

Gallagher was my favourite AB at that time. Was absolutely crushed when he went to league. A deadset legend in black.

Is that the guy that NZ poached from England/Ireland.........? 🙂

I must say it broke my heart a bit when I found out he was a pom. But it says everything about pom rugby at the time that a player of his calibre would never have gotten near the top. In any case, he acquired the bulk of his skills through the excellence of the NZ rugby system 😊.

On Ridge, maybe he would have been less of a cnut if he hadn't gone to the cnut's nest that is Manly?

On Timu, would Jonah have been selected if Timu hadn't defected to league?

On Crowley, that bugger looked like a 70s AB who snuck onto the ground. Talk about regressing.

I'm not sure if they all played together on the same team, but Deans, Fox, McCahill, Wright and Crowley would have to be up there with the least physically imposing ABs of all time.

Deans no - but Fox McCahill and Wright were all in the run on team that were outclassed by Oz in the 91 RWC semi in Dublin.

@bovidae how did I not type "Crowley". It was in my head - old age.

Yeah Timu had gone well against Italy but Grizz / Hart decided the better option was a jet lagged no pace Crowley

Bernie McCahill wasn't really that small for the era, ourother 12s around that time were Schuster and Taylor and they were all a similar size. Edit: I forgot Little ... who was actually in the team.

Joe Stanley was the big hard midfielder of that era and was under 90kg if I recall correctly.

Just makes me realise how much the AB selectors missed a trick by not picking Marty 'Chuck' Berry. He woulda absolutely dominated.

To put it into context, Innes was considered a big midfielder for that era but was lighter than Aaron Smith.

McCahill benefitted from being in that dominant Auckland team so he's the Broomhall of the late 1980s/early 1990s. 🙂

Debatable in his playing days, certainly no contest since Mehrts discovered the piss and the pies.

Can confirm that Berry is a big unit in real life though, obviously they weighed him at about 16 years old and never updated it.

He was at the cafe when I had breakfast with Joe Moody , Jerome Kaino , Damien McKenzie and Liam Squire . Mehrts defence was always a bit suspect but he can tackle any buffet by the looks of him.

I just assumed he had a standing breakfast date with them whenever they weren't on tour.

Joe Stanley was the big hard midfielder of that era and was under 90kg if I recall correctly.

Just makes me realise how much the AB selectors missed a trick by not picking Marty 'Chuck' Berry. He woulda absolutely dominated.

According to his stats, he was 83kg. That's probably lighter than Andrew Mehrtens.

That’s not saying much.Have you seen Mehrtens lately?
He was at the cafe when I had breakfast with Joe Moody , Jerome Kaino , Damien McKenzie and Liam Squire . Mehrts defence was always a bit suspect but he can tackle any buffet by the looks of him.

His old mate Marshall still looks fighting fit, perhaps he exchanged his rig for a brain.

Mehrts looks like hes about to sweat and pass out from having his tie on too tight.
