Fury has gone from villain to hero.

Joshua not wanting to fight in the US is looking like a smart decision.

Plus they were patting themselves on the back for a crowd of 17,698

Makes no sense for Joshua when he can get 75,000 in Cardiff and 90,000 in Wembley.

It would be interesting to compare the PPV numbers though. A US fight will add some local audience to the paying UK audience that may out weigh the bums on seats.

Edit: Have found that AJs last 2 fights attracted 1.5m PPVs (Kilitscho fight slightly higher than JP fight) easily the highest PPVs in UK boxing history.

Yeah I think overall a UK based fight makes sense.

Had Fury winning 114-112 myself. Still, he got careless and paid for it.

Watched it again , that’s about what I thought ,

Had fury winning 8 rounds by 1 point , wilder winning 2 rounds outside the 2 knockdown rounds by 1 point , the two knockdown rounds Wilder winning by 2 points ,

2 points differential , win to fury imo .

But it is closer than many are saying due to the knockdowns

@bovidae this shit has got to stop and/or be punished. If you do not disclose an injury you are potentially tainting the contest and the knock on is fucking up the odds. That needs to be punished.

He should be forced to prove it too. If he can't then he needs to continue to let the world accept that for most of that fight Fury was resting his balls on his chin, along with his punches.

@raznomore So you declare your injury and cancel the fight? You aren't going to give your opponent any inside info on injuries before a fight.

I don't have any sympathy for punters betting on boxing.

Parker didn't disclose his elbow surgery either prior to a fight.

@bovidae cancel it. Im not much of a gambler but I absolutely feel sorry for people who work hard and decide to have a bit of a punt with their hard earned. Im not thinking of the degenerate gambler betting his kids future away.

Hiding an injury, of this magnitude is potentially catastrophic for the spectacle. Maybe not in this case, as it turned out we were given a classic. But imagine paying $70 to watch a fight that lasted 3 rounds because Wilder couldn't raise his arm.

It's remarkably simple. You win a round you get 10 points and the other boxer gets nine. If you knock someone down you get ten and they get eight. Drawn rounds are 10 a piece.

Scuse my ignorance but how does point scoring work in boxing?

It's remarkably simple. You win a round you get 10 points and the other boxer gets nine. If you knock someone down you get ten and they get eight. Drawn rounds are 10 a piece.

                                    Cool. Thanks much.

The next level is: how do you win a round?

Clean punches, defence, dominating the ring, etc.

This is where the subjective element causes debate.
It can be down to personal preference of a style by a judge. You can be a technically perfect boxer that throws 4 clean pinpoint punches in a round and dance and dodge your opponent yet get beaten on the scorecard because a judge likes the way the other guy is trying to take the fight to you and is throwing lots and chasing you around.
You have to take the judges out of the competition, especially when it isn't your camp that is paying for the hookers waiting for them at their hotel rooms.

Rumours Parker will fight chisora on April 20th in the uk ,

Hearn is trying to put a big card together with 3 heavyweight fights on the bill,

White vs povetkin the main event , Lucas Browne fighting a Brit fighter the other one .

If true , shapes as a must win for joe to prevent further sliding

                                          Wilder v Breazeale

Not the fight we wanted to see, but fair play can't fault the finish
