When the last North Korean leader died the grief fest reminded me of the over the top reaction to Diana’s death

You guys miss the point. the Sainted Lady Di's demise was undoubtedly the most catastrophic event of the last two millennia.

A beautiful soul cut down in the prime of life just as she was about to cure cancer, end poverty and win the World Cup for England. And what about those poor wee darling boys having to grow up without a mothers love all the while knowing that their homicidal Nazi grandfather orchestrated their poor mammies murder.

Of course the ultimate tragedy is that Dodi's Dad (another victim of the embedded British privileged caste system) was distracted from his ordained role in life of turning Fulham into the mega power of European football. Which was probably their ultimate goal all along.

@donsteppa "It was certainly a sad occasion, but a few people seemed to forget that there’s more than one way to care or to grieve."

This. I think one reason why those stupid manipulative FB posts like 'if you REALLY cared, you would share this post about cancer/suicide/animals in cages etc etc' shit me so much. Everything has to be a public song and dance, and if you don't make some grand gesture, it means you don't care.

Why did Diana cross the road?

Because she wasn’t wearing her seatbelt .

Have I told the Ingham Twins/Princess Di joke on here before? Still one of my favourites.

What's the difference between the Ingham Twins and Princess Di?

The Ingham Twins were tucked in a funnel.

    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12176070

@hooroo the NZH post on FB about that article is getting lots of abusive angry responses.

At the end of the day, who cares if he was good at sport, he is alleged to be a murdering cnut, ifproven a murdering cnut, then off to jail he goes, sadly our system will unlikely leave him there for as long as he (and other murdering cnuts) deserves.

I wouldn't want to be on the jury making a decision based on the facts, which will no doubt outrage all of the completely uninformed people on social media unless they give him the harshest possible sentence.

I don't think that alleged accused in high profile cases should have anymore rights than the rest of us.

BUT the NZ journalists are being very irresponsible (again) by revealing all these details about this guy when a suppression order is in place. Obviously they (the media) know how far they can go before the line is crossed.

I don't know why it isn't just age and sex that can be published. Otherwise name suppression is really worthless. It's like a game where all the clues are given to allow you to work out the final clue and solve the puzzle.

If anyone wants to know his name it is easy enough to find but his lawyer has plenty of ammunition to use for jury selection etc when the trial starts.
