    Jordan Manihera has signed with San Diego Legion (Major League Rugby). He played his first game for the club on Sunday (local time). He scored a try on debut.

    @Stargazer Great player. Had a good M10 Cup. Would have thought he'd find a home at one of the SR sides. At least he's playing somewhere.

      Sounds like Hemopo won't be back next year:

          @Bones This was the section of interest:

          "Everyone makes different choices and what's right for them at the time and [for] Jackson that's right for him and his family," said Smith, who will join French club Pau after the Rugby World Cup.

          "I know from the Highlanders point of view they wish him all the best.

          "Jax still has a few more years in him so you never know.

          "Obviously in our squad there's been guys that have gone over the Japan and come back for the Highlanders at some point, he still young enough to do that."

                        There's a few fringe AB flankers leaving post 2019. Hemopo, Squire, Whitelock etc. Will the Piutau rule be applied to these guys?

                        I really hope we've got the depth to leave these guys at home come World Cup selection.

                          I get the feeling Luke Whitelock will be one of those signings that the fans love in the end. He seems like a pro, and will work his ring piece out for who ever he is playing for. He's having a good season too, so is leaving with some form behind him.

                          Our playing stocks are getting massacred!

                            Another good signing for Pau. Moving to our place down there next year so excited to see the team build.

                            Luke, if you are reading this and need a real estate agent hit me up. I know a good one. Still hoping to run into one of these guys in the local Casto in Lescar. Conrad Smith has a massive article in the local trail runners news paper. Apparently he is getting into marathons. So fingers crossed for some stalking.

                                  @mooshld If Razor doesn't immediately get the tap on the shoulder, he could become Razor's assistant, replacing Brad Mooar. They'd need to reshuffle some roles though.

                                        @Tim

                                        TJ Perenara has never quite managed to convince that he's a better option than even a not-quite fully-firing Smith.

                                        I disagree with this. When AS was not playing at his best the last few years, TJP has definitely looked the better player. I don't think there's much between the two; they're very different players and one will be more suitable to start against opponent A, and the other against opponent B.

                                        This bit is hilarious:

                                        The fact he's also sure he is committing to stay in New Zealand will give him a deeper foundation of stability and he will most likely once again prove he's in that select group, alongside Brodie Retallick, Sam Whitelock, Kieran Read, Sonny Bill Williams and Ben Smith that make a tangible and significant difference to the way the All Blacks play.

                                        When has SBW ever made "a tangible and significant difference to the way the All Blacks play"?

                                        There is a bit of noise being made about his understudy at the Highlanders, but Folau Fakatava is an untested 19-year-old with an enormous way to go to prove he's even Super Rugby ready.

                                        Well, obviously the Highlanders management disagree, because they have already given him some game time and he'll get more soon. Fakatava is SR ready.

                                        I think keeping AS in NZ will be a good thing. But mostly for the Highlanders, not the ABs. He'll turn 31 at the end of the year. I can't see him playing in black for 4 more years. Behind TJP, there are a few halfbacks that already are, or will be knocking on the door in the next few years. TTT is the obvious player to look at (if he gets more game time, that's another story), but also Hall, Enari, and yes, maybe in a few years time also Fakatava.

                                          @Tim
