I'd like to see Clarkson replaced because he's a dick and Coogan is much funnier. But the hysteria over every bloody utterance from Clarkson is a thing to behold. The guy is/was the host of a car show ffs.

Watched ep 1 of Black Sails - Jegga will love it!

Not a bad 1st ep, even the scene where they introduced John Silver to Black beard....
-

The Jinx was well worth watching.

Love how Banshee has been set up for season 4. Now go and cast some hotties

Yeah was an interesting addition to the back-story.

Pretty decent finale, explosive and then just as you thought it was over...Rebecca is so badd-ass!

But yes, they need at least 2 more hotties!
-

Loved a line on latest ep of Justified: why'd you shoot me in the back? I woulda shot you in the front if you were running toward me

Or something like that

Saw that,
You shot me on the back
If you wanted me to shot you on the front you should have run towards me

The conversation about the coffins was not bad either -

I don't see Banshee and Justified as similar. Banshee is basically a cartoon as you say, Justified is one of the best action dramas on TV. and is grounded in a much more realistic world. And like TR says, they've been killing off hotties and not bloody replacing them.

As for Clarkson, when I was young and impressionable I thought he was quite funny on TV, but really he's mostly a fluffybunny when you dig a little bit deeper.

Why can someone not be funny and a "fluffybunny"? There are lots of people I don't like but find funny.
-

I didn't say they couldn't. I just don't find Clarkson funny anymore and he's a fluffybunny.
-
Hope they aren't setting Raylan up for the finale...

OK, I persevered and after giving Breaking Bad a short rest tried to get into it again but gave up. I just can't get into the characters, I find them all unlike-able and annoying. The only one I got interested in was Jesse's girlfriend and then she was gone.

I guess I need characters that make me want to know what happens to them, to get involved with their stories....

Might give Better Call Saul a go as he was at least interesting and his only back story has potential.

Killing time until GoT and Orphan Black come back now.
-

I found Hank to be a likeable character. Season 4 and 5 were definitely pretty awesome seasons. I don't get why people root for Walt though.
-

Been watching Better Call Saul.

Enjoying it way more than BB.

Same production style but the characters are way better. Even though Saul is a dick on the surface, his character is quickly added to with backstory and supporting characters that create empathy. Has some good scripting too. The downside in the early eps were a couple of idiots that reminded me way too much of early Jesse from BB. At least they went quickly.
-

That's a strong decision by the BBC. Top Gear is a big earner for them, and i doubt it will be without Clarkson. Still, rules is rules Harry, even HR ones

I liked him, he's an arrogant, braying piston wristed gibbon, but he knew it, and played the part to perfection. I liked his rants against hand-wringers, and found his general disdain for others opinions an amusing character (faked or real, it doesn't matter, it's on TV, he's not a mate). He does go too far, the slope comment was too far (or not, maybe he just should have said faggot, apparently that's not really abusive), and he deserves censure for those instances. But i found him far less disagreeable than many others on television.

Pretty much the end of a show that i enjoyed whenever i watched it.
-

While we are on the BBC, i discovered the BBC First channel the other night. Some good drama on that. A couple that i started that look alright were a Cold War drama called "The Game", a political drama called "Secret State" and an interesting take on the british gangster story, where the head of a crime family gets Alzheimers called "The Fear". All were very watchable

So apparently Clarkson has been sacked by the BBC fromTop Gear.
Anyone sad over this?

No.

Now he's got some time on his hands maybe someone could forward him the link to the "faggot" thread and he could share his views with us .

"Sheepshaggers and crims, what the hells happened to you? There was a time when a nancyboy knew his place and it bloody well wasn't on the rugby pitch etc etc etc....."
-
