The true survivor in all this is Davos. Survived not 1 but 2 battles at KL (1-1) win/loss
Survived up north vs The Wildlings then Ramsay and the finally the Night King.
Just does his bit never complains.

@Chris-B must have been a scale thing aye 😉 when you are a wee dragon you can only melt flesh, then you graduate to metal and finally any known material in the universe! except Dany of course.

Hmmm have wondered if Dany's fire powers are totally unique to her or whether Jon might also be immune to fire? I forget if her immunity was prophecy or a family talent etc.

Can't melt the Night King either

Fire immunity is a TV thing, Danny is better at hot in the books, but not immune. GRR confirmed her fiery dragon birth was due to dragon magic stuff. So, is Jon immune? DnD will decide

@Virgil except that was against some slave masters who were defying her, not against literally hundreds and thousands of innocents that had already surrendered. It's a big jump, to say your going to murder people than to actually do it. I know teenagers, if the number of promised deaths actually happened, the bed no one left! Sure insanity is in the blood, and the books will show it better cos she's a PoV character. But the way she's been built up as the great white mother saviour, that was a shark jumping moment. I was sure she would go nuts, but it was too rushed and too over the top.

Edit: I accept that I'm far too invested in the books, and a total nerd & grumpy Canute, that the TV series will never live uptime expectations. But the first few series were so good that I believed that it could!

@Machpants some of those in the War of the Roses had attacks on Castles with troops camped outside.

The thing is that both Dani and John are undead. I'm not sure they can even procreate anymore. I think both are on borrowed time.

@Machpants I think they addressed the Fire - Ice thing in that fire cant necessarily melt ice, it might start too but if the ice source is cold enough it could be for all intents and purposes (like the Night King) impervious to the heat.

I reckon it will be Sansa on the throne. Danny to die, Jon to either die doing it or head north of the wall. Really the only one left who makes good decisions is Sansa. Danny is nuts and Jon is an utter motion politically, militarily, and socially - who knows why the miserable git is so popular? The only question I have is about Tyrion, does he die or end up as crown Prince with Sansa, or something in between?

Edit oh Arya, yeah fan favourite so big wigs will ask for her to get something, probably free and good life elsewhere?

    Fan service is a thing

It certainly is. Just look at Greyworm and headless one, Brianne, Bronn and even the Hound. Brianne in particular has had sfa to do for the past 3-4 seasons.

Does there have to be a happy ending with the right person on the throne? Or could Dany take the throne as the Mad Queen and everyone just has to deal with it? Perhaps the morale of the throne is that it perpetually fucks people over a bit like the One Ring to rule them all.

The fan favourite would be Mr Snow to man up and take out the Mad Queen and then rule the kingdoms as a just and honourable king.

It's supposed to be a bitter sweet ending, with no Lord of the Rings type good guys win, if it sticks to the book plans talked about by GRR. Imo Jon killing his love and having to take the throne, which he didn't want, is not a happy ending. Especially as he's as good a real ruler as his 'Dad' was, an honour obsessed fool. It's not like taking the Iron throne of what's left of the seven kingdoms will be a fun job!

But I really don't know, that's what keeps me watching, DnD's priority, aside from big set pieces, is subverting everything. Even when it doesn't make much sense

Of the main houses there will quite possibility be no Lannisters, maybe half a Targaryen, one Baratheon, apparently a new Martell/Tyrell, one Greyjoy and two to two and a half Starks. Oh, and an Arryn I think.

My money is on Dany and the dwarf both dying, the permanently gobsmacked Stark exiling himself north to find his dog.
Bran, Yara and Gendry won't want the throne.
I doubt anyone will try to rule over everyone else after seeing the destruction from 'the game'.
Sansa will rule over the north, Yara the west, the new dude the south and Gendry the east.

And the final clip will be one of those white walker babies opening their eyes.

I see there are 'fan theories' (which have all been arse thus far) claiming LIttle Finger is in fact still alive...if so, maybe he will sweep in the back door and claim the Throne...:smiling_face_with_open_mouth_closed_eyes:

@Crucial That sounds logical, Snow might say the Throne has been bad since the beginning and causes nothing but bloodshed so he may destroy the throne and as you say each kingdom will rule itself. However the show is called the "Game" of thrones so perhaps someone has to win the game.

I guess there's no rule that there has to be one ruler. The Northerners clearly don't want a Southern ruler anymore and the other regions probably couldn't give a fark either. Wonder if that's sustainable though. What kind of a power base would Bronn or Gendry have? And what's going on in Dorne? Talk about a waste of time.

Used to be 7 seperate Kingdoms until Aegon the Conqueror came over with his dragons and conquered Westeros 300 years earlier.
I suspect it will go back to seperate kingdoms again

Yes, no S. The question is whether the kingdoms can survive as separate entities. The North, Vale and Riverlands seem ok (although I'm not sure what the status is without the Frey's), but there appear to be massive power vaccums everywhere else. You'd imagine there would be a massive disparity in wealth and resources.
