Good chance of rain Saturday night. Wonder if that factored into Scotty starting?

yea, if the ball you definitely don't want your hardest hitter on there...

Who is the better 1st 5 Ford or Farrell? Is this purely to give them a second play maker?

I think Tuilagi at 13 is best for England, so that puts Farrell at 12 and Ford at 10.

English mate who really rated Slade says

                  Farrell, Tuilagi, Slade is stronger

I thought Slade was off the pace last week.

The point being it's more likely to be a set piece boreathon as both sides seek to play in the other's half. Win that, establish a small lead and then when they have to chance their arm, he comes on to smack them backwards.

I think picking Scott Barrett is primarily around the lineout. With Barrett there we will have 4 frontline defensive lineout options

But I'm so not with you here:

We don't lose anything on defence with Barrett, nor do we lose much of Cane's impact at the breakdown. Cane will come on fresh in the second half and can go nuts for 30 minutes on defence if required.

I think Cane is our hardest hitter by a long shot. His physicality in the tackle and at the breakdown is just extraordinary.

Barrett was pretty strong of defence and In the breakdown against the boks and also in the second half against Ireland. I don't think we lose much at all in that regard.

Ok so don’t have full team this week... however, from inside the camp....

S Barrett replaces Cane at 6, Tuipolotu on the bench for Todd. Savea at 7. Cane on bench.

Perhaps wrist not great, or just want a bigger/taller team

With no Cane, Read will likely spend more time on the back of the scrum than in the previous RWC games.

I think Tuilagi at 13 is best for England, so that puts Farrell at 12 and Ford at 10.

Lateral defence being the issue. Won't be surprised if ABs target that channel with ALB and Mulletboi off set piece.

There was a game years ago in NZ where we had players getting around Tuilagi on his outside .

And Im sure its in the memories of Shag and co if i can remember it

Ok so don’t have full team this week... however, from inside the camp....

S Barrett replaces Cane at 6, Tuipolotu on the bench for Todd. Savea at 7. Cane on bench.

Perhaps wrist not great, or just want a bigger/taller team

Great oil. You have some awesome sauces.

@sparky thanks, you should also try my bbq and tomato versions too 🙂

I have been fortunate this time around for sure..hopefully get to do the same for next week for the main final, but dont want to be too presumptuous yet!

All do you think I hold back so the journos lurking can get their oil from elsewhere? ha ha

No , we are more important than worrying about Journos 🙂

If the NZHerald 'rumours' really are sourced from here. Then, if we get through to the final - can you please not leak it on here. Would be the patriotic thing to do .....

                                          If we're playing for 3rd, then I don't care .....

Quite a big leak this one IMO, a surprising formation change - given Eddie several days head start - if he has no other sources.
