I'd be pleased if Cotter applied. Anyone heard any indications of his willingness?
welcome back Cotter and not the dodgy 70's version
no bias here from a Bay perspective
That was a great show.

I'm assuming you mean when we won the shield under vern?

-
@gt12 I realise that.
I mean after being belted last week they have rung changes and should have refocused.
Yeah, sorry, that’s just my frustration coming out there.

Rennie with Wayne Smith and Tony Brown is a bit of dream team for me. The problem is we don’t have a world class defensive coach available - I doubt that Smith would take it.
And, to the best of my knowledge Robertson is not a defensive specialist; nor Joseph, plus I assume that both would only be keen on a head coaching role.
So, could we go outside to get a D specialist or reinvest in McLeod and try to get a coach for him (e.g., Wayne Smith)?
Our defense was a fucking mess last week so I’m tempted to boot him, despite Stormy being one of my all time favorite players.
Apart from Farrell, who we can’t get anyway, who else would be a defensive specialist we could bring in?
I’d also be tempted to get a better kicking/skills coach again - I feel like our kicking has gone downhill since we lost Mick.
For the scrum, IFIIK. what are the fern’s thoughts?

@nzzp They made the gainline at will because our defense was passive.
Don't disagree - but it wasn't as rubbish as our attack or our forwards. Facts are we thought they'd get around twenty points and they did. Based on our attack the week before, I thought we'd get to high twenties/low thirties but actually we just sucked.
Main problem was the breakdown. 18 turnovers and 11 penalties.
-
the thing that really sucks is we have another 8 months for our next game, that's two thirds of a whole year. And god knows how long it will be before we play England again
-
I went for Joseph and I hope that means we would get Brown as well.
On a side note. I was shocked to see how many people were calling for Foster takeover, in my news feed today. All people I thought knew something about rugby too.:face_with_stuck-out_tongue_winking_eye:

Next AB coach?
Just went back and looked at your list and realistically (with the exception of the obvious attempt at humour) there's no-one I'd reject completely.
And that includes Fozzie.
There is a few I'd prefer without much objection at all (Robertson, Joseph, Gatland, Rennie) , and there's a few that I have reservations about (Foster, Schmidt, Brown, Cotter, even Jones).
But whoever gets it I want a to feel refreshed and renewed.

Someone at the Herald has a sense of humour.

They might need a helicopter pilot

@Nevorian aren't we scheduled to meet them on the EOYT 2020?
Yep, we play England at Twickenham on 7 November, 2020.

That will be a good one, especially if they are the World Champs.

There is no love lost between Steve Hansen and Warren Gatland. While Gatland used his final press conference as Welsh coach to bizarrely challenge his Kiwi successor Wayne Pivac to match the efforts of his 12-year tenure, Hansen swiftly landed two flush blows to his opposite. First Hansen reminded the Welsh media that his record against Gatland is 8-1-1 in the All Blacks favour. "It's been competitive, yeah," Hansen quipped. He then questioned New Zealand Rugby's decision to let Gatland sacrifice one season his four-year Chiefs contract to lead the British and Irish Lions in 2021. Don't let pictures of these two heavyweight Kiwi coaches sharing a post-match beer fool you, they do not get along.

Russian interference.

I'd like to see a trilogy of Joseph/Foster/Mitchell.
JJ as head coach;Foster because of the experience he brings(if only to remind us of the mistakes made in the 2019 campaign and the 2011/15 positives) and it's time to forgive Mitch-he has the goods now-especially in defence. No Robertson/Sader dominated team thinking please!
Out there-I know,but a nice blend.
Wouldn't say no to Plumtree or Brown either!
Chur.
