Prawn, chives, garlic, ginger, with some veggie ones subbing the prawn for mushroom. Mixed the prawns with soy, oyster sauce and sesame sauce inside, then dunked in soy and chilli oil afterwards

    Mmmmmmm

So good. And surprisingly easy to make.

And kinda disgusting how many you can smash in 1 sitting...

Yeah the last P&P ones i made i couldn't believe how easy they were, and how good.

I wish I could remember what went in the dipping sauce I made up

    I'm making brisket this Saturday

Because sometimes you need a lockdown treat. Benedictine affagato. No better affagato

This important thread has slipped to page two so I will bump it up.

Made some Teurgoule yesterday as I saw some good whole milk (Silver top in a bottle) going cheap at the supermarket.

You might think this is just rice pudding, but the difference is the long slow cook (5 hours) and high milk to rice ratio.

Was served some at a B&B in Normandy and have been thinking of making it for a while.

    Pure comfort food.

Teurgoule: the queen of rice puddings

Teurgoule: the queen of rice puddings

The ultimate in comfort foods is good old fashioned rice pudding and Normandy’s Teurgoule is no exception. I first came across this yummy local dessert when I moved here to Normandy some twenty yea…

It's nice when fresh and hot but like pavlova, even better cold for brekkie.

@nzzp said in Covid-19 and keeping fit:

Tough day on the rower today. Really suffered, probably a reaction to having to do some work. Quick haul up the hill with the family shortly, and then into some nice hazy IPA for the evening.

Dinner is a learning experience for my boys; how to light a charcoal bbq and then cook steak. Important life skill.

Any tips? My hit rate for successfully lighting one is around 30%, if that.
