Very much in agreement with posters above, that was very impressive from Fury, didn't think he had it in him to do that but showed he has the tools.

Interesting comments here from Joe Rogan on the fight and how Fury decided what strategy he would employ in the rematch based on what happened in the first.

Didn’t see Parker’s fight but sounds like poorly matched opponent who probably should be a cruiser rather than heavy weight?

Poor old JP wins in impressive fashion and only an Iron Mike video posted today lol.

Parker took a few too many hits to the head but he was never in doubt. He looks to have worked on power punching and although the opponent was really a cruiser weight he has won in strong fashion.

main problem for Joe right now is getting fights ,

Seems like all the top heavyweights have got their fights/plans pretty close to mapped out for this year already ,

He may have to be content with fighting no bodies for a while longer

Isn't he in line for a mandatory if Joshua can't maintain his obligations and has to vacate a belt?

Yes, he would fight Usyk for the vacant WBO belt.

@raznomore Unless Kiwis were prepared to pay to watch the Parker fight or find an illegal stream, most of us wouldn't have seen it. I only saw brief highlights on the evening news.

That talk of vacating titles seems to have gone quiet now ,

Chisora and usyk are in line to fight in May

Because he was so brutal , I think his skill level was overlooked ,

His ability to go head body head at such speed and make it look so fluent is poetry in motion

He certainly looks like he still has it and by golly he is a quirky, interesting character out of the ring too.

I don't know if ANYONE could have beaten him in his prime ( @raznomore could put this in better terms than I can ). One of those "what ifs" that always comes up.......Foreman/Tyson would certainly not have gone the distance that's for sure. Much taller guys like Lewis/Klitchkos/Fury etc would have the best chance out of anyone I suspect.

@Dice I do wonder what would have transpired if Cus had another decade walking on this Earth.

Mike must have been a scary prospect in his prime. All boxers have that element of fear, the butterflies etc. prior to a fight, but facing him must have been terrifying. He had movement, speed and power. Watching old footage and you can see some of his opponents were beaten before the bell had rung. It looks like more than a few took the first opportunity to elect to stay on that mat too, thinking "fuck getting up for more of that".

As a kid I loved watching Mike fight.

I'm fairly sure that's exactly what Larry Holmes said. He could have gotten up after the first knockdown but for what ? just to be knocked down again and risk serious injury ?

Holmes was a legend, it's a shame he took that fight years after his prime but money talks I guess.

                                      Any strongman fans on TSF?

Thor Bjornsson (aka The Mountain from Game of Thrones) deadlifted 501kg at the weekend in his home gym to "break" Eddie Hall's 500kg record competition deadlfit from a few years ago.

These two have an excellent social media feud going ever since Eddie beat him at World's Strongest Man 2017. Thor complained afterwards the (Icelandic) ref did him out of a couple of reps in the squat competition which ended up being the difference in the final wash up. Called Eddie a cheat.

Eddie comes across as a GC, and Thor an absolute knob IMO. Eddie had said beforehand the record doesn't count as its not in competition, but wished him luck all the same for the attempt. Thor right after completing the lift called Eddie a cheat again and challenged him to a boxing match. The paperwork has been signed and they now have a 7 figure fight deal which will be amazing/comical to watch.

Eddie was a champion swimmer back in the day and does a decent amount of fight training on his social media feeds. He's 6'3" 160kg to Thor's 6'9" 205kg (Eddie was much bigger, around 200kg when he did the 500kg deadlift). It will be a great watch, they'll both be gassed inside 3 rounds. Eddie comes across as a bit of a pyscho as well, and was a bouncer before turning pro in strongman.

@TeWaio by three rounds you mean 30 secs into the first round. There's no way the mountain has any aerobic capacity.

Probably the wrong thread but yeah I’ve watched this with some interest.

From what I’ve seen both come across as good guys, until recently. The mountain has done himself no favours with his demeanour. The ‘fight’ sure will be interesting if it takes place.

The strongman I probably like most is Brian Shaw. He looks even more ridiculous and cartoon like than any of them but is just such a nice humble bloke
