Is everyone forgetting about Tu'inukuafe? I know he has been injured but he is odds on to start at LH for the NI team, and if he returns to fitness and form would be a good option from the bench.

If Laumape is out for a while there is a good chance Rieko will now be at centre in the NI vs SI game. His combination with ALB in that game will be interesting to watch, thinking ahead to the ABs.

I had my little rant about Goodhue being solid but possibly a bit overrated at 13, and there was a bit of expected push back. But fuck me, if he is our best option at 12 then things are looking a bit shit for the year

I'm a huge Goodhue fan - but he's not been in good form this season I don't think. Particularly not at 12.

To me that reads that they are really looking for a Whitelock replacement or a ball playing lock.
Guzzler was both a lump and a ball player.
I agree that options are limited at the moment. TripleP is improving but needs to add more strings to his bow. Looks like we may have to squeeze as much out of Sam as possible.

But he has never been a ball-carrying lock who gets you consistent metres in the trenches. Even Aust gets more out of their locks in this area than the ABs do. I'd take a punt on Parkinson as he is the closest to that type of player.

that's what you need. A decade and a half ago the Boks had it absolutely sorted with Matfield and Botha. And nothing has changed since then.
If you get one that can do both you are in business.
