Lovely people generally but most have the most fucked up ideas on what's normal and not normal/ unnatural ( by church standards obviously)<br>
One I flatted with wouldn't let her son watch Harry Potter movies because they are all witches and wizards.<br>
One mate as teenagers didn't like me playing certain songs like Queens Bohemian Rapsady because it's lyrics were against gods will or some shit.<br>
3 of them married within a couple of months of meeting their partners just so they could fuck and not go against gods will<br>

<p>I was raised catholic, there were definitely arseholes in the church who were very devout at the same time. They would have been arseholes if they didnt go to church but because they did they got be thought of as religious arseholes. Fortunately being a catholic you can say a few hail marys after a chat with the priest and you're cool with God again.</p> -

<p>I know some religious people who are total honeys - the kindest, most caring, selfless people, like the ones who volunteer at the op shop and deliver meals on wheels when they are bloody 90 themselves. But fucking hell, I've met some total church wankpuffins - judgmental, gossipy, homophobic, and beyond ridiculous about anything even vaguely sexual.</p>

<p>Actually talking about being catholic brings us back to Nick again, there was a creepy marist brother in our church who took a bunch of kids on a camp and after dinner kept trying to bring the conversation around to Willising. Imagine our surprise to see him up on the usual charges the clergy seem to attract for themselves.</p> -
