Speaking of the best players, Hamish Bidwell has an opinion:

Well that's a load of shite. Kirifi and Papalii have both had great games at Super level, it's plain wrong to suggest otherwise.

Interesting that the leading fetcher in English rugby, Jack Wills, is 6’ 3”, 17 stone, and packs a punch in D. I suspect that’s what TWM are keen to replicate.

I'll take a stab at the reserves

        Lomax,Taylor,Hodgman,SBarrett, AI, TJ, RI, Jordan

or if they go a 6/2 bench
Lomax,Taylor,Hodgman, Vaa’i, SBarrett, AI, TJ, Jordan

No openside cover if the unthinkable happens and Cane breaks down in the first minute? Kirifi looks a good option there.

No need for two locks on the bench in my view of you’ve got Frizell in the lineup who if there are multiple injuries could cover there. Loose forward cover is what’s needed IMO.

        I heard S Barrett can cover 6, 7 and 8...

The French captain is quite a big unit too although perhaps a bit more athletic.

Trying to extract some central wisdom from the above (and pardon me for drinking non-alcohol malt as not used to brain cells rubbing together) but it sounds IMO that it is actually RM vs JB?
Ie BB sounds like a definite pick, the question is where.
JB is not a weapon (currently) anywhere but 15 (possibly). None of the 3 currently are kicking that well consistently (DMac doesn't seem to be used for conversions).
                Therefore
play RM/BB or BB/JB. Put a winger on the wing.
Midfield: stop stuffing AB around, he seems to be the continual sacrificial victim at 13 or SMB (safe mesito boy)/underrated glue player at 12. But he is better at 12 than JG and they aren't playing JG at 13 (so I don't understand what is happening).
Either play ALB at 12 JG at 13 or think again. Midfield should be a polished, glistening, hardcore rock by now.

Ofa the only prop that was in last year's RWC squad. Those guys are going to be tested.

Bit surprised they're starting with Big Karl.

Wasn't expecting to see Laumape in the mix, but keen to see how he goes. He was in a decent vein of form before he was injured. Adds some power to the backline options.

Been banging that drum for some time. I don't have a problem which number each player wears as long as ALB and JG can swap around as needed to utilised their strengths. And I can see the logic in trying out different combinations in non-key games and def. like giving Reiko & Laumape game time and experience.

If the TWM decide to experiment a little and change a settled combination that's good as well - just make sure there's a settled combination to start with.

6'6" and 17 stone. 'Quite' big! France will be VERY dangerous for 2023 at home.

                            100%.

What's the chance we run into them in the knockouts? We've played more than any other pair of teams - 7 times in 9 touranments, which is remarkable!

My Gran just gave me the beer as a kid. Always loved my Gran.

Going to be interesting to see how how Hoskins goes if it is a tight test, especially in the wet. Just might be a bit different to where has shone in super rugby. Reckon he'll be O.K though.

They don't understand numbers. Hand out random jerseys to any old player, don't understand time. Probably do a Cheika and name 24 players next.

Thank God for that. I thought @nostrildamus was referring to some non-alcoholic abomination pretending to taste like single malt whisky.

(Fond memories of malt syrup - my dad used to let me lick the spoon when he made his carboys of beer.)
