He's really let himself go these days. Good at darts though.

@Bones Ha! Saw an old TOTP video recently of Dexeys Midnight Runners singing “Jackie Wilson said”, with a huge background picture of Jocky Wilson the fat darts player 😂

Every time I see Gerard Butler in a new movie I instantly think bargain bin at Blockbuster.

He’s actually utterly shite and has about as much range as a cork gun.

He’s still living off his performance in 300 which, to be fair, was absolutely farking epic.

    Just watched (again)

    Law Abiding Citizen
Yeah thought he was pretty good in this eh. It's a good watch, 300 out of 500.

It gets kudos for a fantastic torture scene and some cool gadgets but Butler was being annoyingly Bulterish even back then I thought

I think that was the first Butler film I just stopped watching midway through. But IIRC it was more to do with the movie as a whole than him.

I'd still watch him over Clive Owen any day.

I'm amazed Clive had a career.

I'm not so much amazed at the career, but rather that it's a somewhat acclaimed career. Everyone agrees Butler can't act for shit but there's people out there who rate Owen.

    Eye of the Beholder

The Good: It stars Ashley Judd.

The Bad: She's supported by these blokes; Ewan McGregor, k.d. Lang and Jason Priestley.

    😂 Well played.

I watched Ava the other night. This movie had the potential to be good with the cast (Jessica Chastain, John Malkovich, Colin Farrell) but really missed the mark. Even Ioan Gruffudd's cameo role was a wasted opportunity.

@Bones I saw it on some quiz thing. Had Martin Kemp and some other celebrities that I’d never heard of, hosted by two more that I didn’t know either. Was a complete charisma vacuum.

    Road House

Tricked the wife into watching it by saying it's one of Swayze's finest hours. She needn't know it 's just pointless violence, thin plot and loads of fighting. It's fucking great!

Always good to revisit this one. The stand out bit for me was Ben Gazarra having people’s cars crushed with his giant truck. Even for a film with s ludicrous plot that stood out.

You know, I think I’ll watch it again tonight.

@Catogrande oh yeah, The Hit List! I actually think that show is great, it's a lot of fun ( I usually watch it with the missus before heading upstairs while celeb dancing thing is on).

@MajorRage snap!! Watched it for the first time ever on catch up last night, loved it. The violence was hilarious tbf, but I just love the swayz' too much to hate any film of his.

The Trial of the Chicago 7

Based on the infamous 1969 trial of seven defendants charged by the federal government with conspiracy and more, arising from the countercultural protests in Chicago at the 1968 Democratic National Convention.

Yeah this is a bloody good watch. Mostly courtroom drama with a measure of intrigue, horror and comedy that keeps you gripped.
