Not since John Hopoate have I heard a less plausible explanation.

I've got to ask - what was the explanation?

    He was learning proctology?

He was giving them a 'wedgie' and it went wrong on three to five seperate occasions over a couple of rounds.

He must have "misunderstood" what a wedgie is...

I'm not actually sure that there is a plausible excuse for sticking a finger up other players dates (not their girlfriends) on a rugby field. Is there? I have nothing, but you are a sick bunch so have a go.

if you're playing in, say, Southland, it's really cold?

So thermal "recti" fication for the cold?

Still not really buying it. You being first to arrive with an excuse for anal probing isn't too much of a shock though. Kudos.

@Snowy maybe John saw how Han stuffed Luke into a Tauntaun to warm him up? Just lucky for those other players that he only had a cold finger...

@mariner4life You also add in guys like Sehwag and Darren Gough opting for clickbait-esque statements and the fire is roaring before they are even off the ground.

I understand the pile-on. The Sydney test allowed the media (both here and abroad) to dust off three classic old chestnuts at once: the Aussie team are sledging, the Aussie crowd are racist and Smith is a cheat. Talk about an editors dream.

The real shame of it is it's overshadowed the most anticipated test on home soil in maybe a decade. When was the last time we had a genuine decider in a test series? I can't remember, maybe a game against South Africa?

Well let’s look back before the SCG test and all of a sudden there’s a made up story about the GABBA test and India not wanting to play it if there is this Covid restriction and protocol. That was not coming from the India camp....

Aussie wins the toss and bats first

Consensus seems to be that the pitch is drier than normal. Already has a crack in it

              Australia
1 David Warner, 2 Marcus Harris, 3 Marnus Labuschagne, 4 Steven Smith, 5 Matthew Wade, 6 Cameron Green, 7 Tim Paine (capt & wk), 8 Pat Cummins, 9 Mitchell Starc, 10 Nathan Lyon, 11 Josh Hazlewood

              India
1 Rohit Sharma, 2 Shubman Gill, 3 Cheteshwar Pujara, 4 Ajinkya Rahane (capt), 5 Mayank Agarwal, 6 Rishabh Pant (wk), 7 Washington Sundar, 8 Shardul Thakur, 9 Navdeep Saini, 10 Mohammed Siraj, 11 T Natarajan

That Australian batting line up is a strange mix of absolutely outstanding, extremely journeymanish and inexperienced.

India really needed to win that toss and put some runs on the board.

Good start getting Warner but they're going to have to roll Aus for under 200 if they want to be in this game.

Not the best comeback for Davy Boy in the longer version of the game so far.....

@MN5 he's nowhere near fully fit. If Pucovski was fit he might well have missed this game.
