I wonder how many runs Oz think they need?
Warnie seemed to think they'd bat a little bit past tea, which would give them the option of two evening sessions with a new ball in hand - in case they'd need both. Seems reasonable.
On the other hand, that leaves less than 4 sessions for England to survive - which might just about be doable if they could survive the evening session relatively unscathed.

England can’t rely on Root all the time, he’ll need some support if they’re ANY chance of drawing this even with a depleted Australian attack….and they’ve shown fuck all of that so far. If Root goes cheaply you can absolutely forget it.

You'd see that set up bowling in 9th grade cricket and fancy your chances. His bat pokes out at 45 degrees!
You'd be quite annoyed at the end of the day when he'd slogged you for 200*. Wonder how the fuck he'd done it.
Must have an eye like a dead fish.

We had an ODI guy - Peter Someone, I think - who might have been an opener/wicket-keeper. He looked equally like all coaching manuals had escaped him.
