For those interested Slow Horses is premiering on Apple TV+ on 1 April.
Slow Horses - as in Slough House?
If so... awesome. For some reason, that feels like something Apple could make a good job of (said through gritted teeth, I fucking hate Apple, but they've done some good telly). -

Ozark
Finished watching Pt 1 of S4, so only 7 more episodes to go whenever Pt 2 airs. This is one of the best Netflix shows in recent years. Julia Garner is just brilliant as Ruth.
Garner was truly exceptional in last episode. Another Emmy beckons.
I SO want Wendy to come a cropper!
Ruth really got stroppy didn’t she ?
Cool hearing this banger at the end too

@kruse Gary Oldman and Kristin Scott Thomas in the cast bodes well.
Didn't Gary Oldman do Smiley recently too? Typecasting himself a bit in his later years.
Although, has he changed his body shape for each part? Going from Smiley to Jackson Lamb in a few years... that'd take some pies. -
@bones I finished last night, enjoyable series, most of the fight scenes you could give some latitude that they were believable, only one I thought was BS was the one in the house and the beat down he took the tyre iron from the weedy little dude...
Is Reacher meant to be on the spectrum? I liked his dead pan one liners but some made me wonder.

My memory of the books:
- Early on, there was lots of mention of him doing irrelevant maths and shit in his head whenever he saw a number. Oh, a key with the number "700" on it? Well, 700 is a nice round number, a multiple of 100, most people would say. Reacher: oh 700... a sum of 4 consecutive prime numbers: 167 + 173 + 179 + 181. It's prime factors are 2 x 2 x 5 x 5 x 7. A Harshad number in base 10. Another 4 or 5 lines of Fucking maths blah maths blah fucking.
- That kinda dried up fairly quickly though
- In a later book, there was mention of him being part of a psychological experiment, or testing - without his awareness - where he tested in the top 1% or some bullshit of some particular traits, like... going into full-on attack mode instantly.
So yeah - possibly "on the spectrum"... but quite subtly.
(Shit... Lee Child, Reacher, "Subtle" - in the same vicinity?) -

Yeah that was quite annoying eh. All of a sudden he was ridiculously weak and couldn't hit a wall if it was in front of him.

Stumbled across Bel Air on TVNZ on demand the other night and next thing ya know I've watched 4 episodes.
Pretty much a more detailed, less comedic version of the fresh prince many of us grew up with but set in modern times. Uncle Phil def not as large as I remembered him.

Mandy
BBC comedy series
14 mins per episode
Just blitzed series 1
Pissing myself -

Yep, this was an absolutely idiotic scene. TBF, I'm not a book fan and the series hasn't really grabbed me. I went to watch an episode the other day thinking I must be up to Ep 8 and it was only EP 5 and I was disappointed.
It's not bad, but I wont rush to watch a second season.

I thought Reacher was light entertainment and OK but I am much more looking forward to Slow Horses.
Hope it translates to the screen OK. Much of Herron's writing is very descriptive and those descriptions are often the best bits. Great characters though and that usually makes a TV show (if they get them right)

Apologies if this has been mentioned, but was the entire season of Reacher based on one book?
Yes. So the actor playing Reacher has a job for life...
that dude is fucking huge
6'5 if i'm not mistaken
188cm according to Google, so 6'3"
Still. Fucking unit.
188cm is 6’2”. 191cm is 6’3”.
I thought you were a maths and science nerd?

Just finished ‘This is going to hurt’ on BBC iplayer. Based on the best seller of the same name, by Adam Kay. Centres around the author’s time as junior doctor in the NHS in the early 2000s (played by Ben Whishaw).
Black humour, graphic visualisations of child birth, sadness; it’s polarised opinion. I thought it was unmissable, but it’s not a feelgood watch.
