For those who were wondering, I think this is the 'tackle' (assault) in question. That's fucking grubby:

That's both funny and disturbingly disgusting at the same time. Doesn't matter what the player did, A coach shouldn't say shit like that...

I saw the spray before I knew the score, and instantly guessed the Raiders lost

        Stay classy Ricky you fuckhead.

I hope the Raiders retain him forever.

Imagine making the Panthers the good guys?

Hardly the good guys after doing that. Did you watch at all?

Whitehead looked pretty stunned sitting next to Stuart when he unleashed.

A swift apology has already come and we’ll see if the NRL do anything. It’s pretty dumb by Stuart.

Penrith breaking Ricky's mind probably wraps up top spot for the year.

Cowboys keep getting it done and are now pretty much home for top 4

Cronulla made hard work of the super limited Dragons but should be top 4 as well.

Melbourne beating the Titans changes nothing

Good Parramatta can win the comp. Bad Parramatta will go straight out. Which one turns up?

No one wants to play the Bunnies. Latrell Mitchell might be the best player in the comp.

Brisbane suddenly look shaky after two bad losses.

The Warriors are just so fucking bad it's actually hard to put in to words. The worst for-and-against in a competition that includes the Tigers and the Titans. Their attack fucking sucks. Their defense has no heart. They quit very early on the weekend.
I am not sad to see Walsh go, he's not very good, and can't defend for toffee. I'll take TMM over him all day at the moment. But the roster sucks across the board. And either Jones can't coach for shit either, or the players have no ability, because i see no difference to when Brown was there. Same pattern of play. Same lack of effort. Massive few years of building ahead.

@mariner4life I actually thought the warriors were improving in the short period under Payten. He wasn't so fussed about the attack, but punished them when they got the defence wrong. So we were still losing, but it looked like they were not giving up. I suspect he knew that the attack would come once he sorted out their attitude. That has all gone.

The team is already under the mindset that the season is over and are playing like it. I don't think the roster is a complete shambles, but we do not have rockstars throughout the spine and SJ has been one of the worst HB's in the comp.

But tough and smart decisions next year need to be made, don't let guys go without getting cash for them, but be ruthless about what is best for the club, none of that is happening

Stacy is not the answer, he has admitted he is more comfortable as an assistant and it shows. I just hope Andrew Webster gets a chance to show what he can do without the owner getting in his way

As for Ricky, I cant see how the NRL can protect him this time..even after the belated apology.. will be interesting to see "if" anything happens

@bayimports i reckon you have two options if you are at the bottom

Focus on defense, keep the score low, set effort standards, and build off that

                      or

focus on your attack. score points. stress the opposition, and build the defense later. Neither is wrong

Warriors can't attack and won't defend.

I watched Trindall play for teh Sharks on Saturday, he had a whale of a game. He's their backup half, nothing more. Find those guys, young, bit of spark, want to play 80 minutes every week.
Stop this circle of failure that involves buying players that the other shit teams don't want, or old guys looking for a homecoming and a pay packet.

I read a great article the other day that summed it up. In club land you are either building a team to contend for a premiership; contending for a premiership; or sliding down after your window shut.
The warriors right now are none of those things. There was no window. we are not in contention. And the roster is chock full of guys who will not be in our next contending side. This is where you start your decision making.

If the Warriors are going to lose they might as well lose with a Kiwi roster and develop local depth. No marquee Aussie will come to NZ so why bother signing average players.

The only reason Trindall is even playing is because the Warriors signed their best young half and since Metcalf made that decision he was not given another first grade chance since. In fact they have tried to get him to backflip out of his contract twice. Secondly the warriors signed Volkman who is still under 20 and was incredibly highly rated at the Roosters, if it wasn't for Walker he would have likely had a start. Now through various reasons we have not even see this kid play at seven, only six and he looks raw, but nevertheless neither are old players that no one wants so cant throw your logic over the squad.

Our centers are woeful and I don't see any improvement in the recruits. but we are not just recruiting guys no one wants

@bayimports no you're right we are not. but it does make up a lot of who we sign. I am waiting to see which semi-retired ex-kiwi we sign on $650k this year. Proctor is available, he played for NZ AND the Storm, he's overqualified.

As you say, we signed young fullas. play them! even raw would they be any fucking worse than SJ? Or has the entire club just written the covid period off? i have sympathy for that attitude.

The new coach has to basically rebuild the club if he wants any success. And all with the knowledge he will probably get fired before it bears any fruit

                              @mariner4life said in NRL 2022:

Or has the entire club just written the covid period off? i have sympathy for that attitude.

ok, yep we are very well aligned, even on fears of signing that deadshit although I am hearing he is going to the UK....please

if nothing else, the term "weak gutted dog person" has made NRL social media fucking hilarious this weekend.

i was sort of wondering how Sticky's super loyal media mates were gonna defend this

So far i have seen "yes, but, charity work!"
"you can't suspend him, we don't live in China"
"this is really the NRL's fault for making coaches do press conferences"

@mariner4life buzz said he needed to be punished, but he painted a picture first of a nice guy with a charity blah blah, before saying he still needs to be punished

lol you can see why he has so many lives

The NRL fraternity - commentators, ex players, journos - run the greatest protection racket in sport. Say and do basically anything and you will have plenty of people running interference or selling your “good” qualities for you.

lol normally a terrible affair talking about trades etc, but foxsports "blog with hoops" session today was a funny read. James Hooper wrote the piece earlier making the statement, that Australia isn't China or Russia. Most fans let him and his media mates have both barrels today..quite an entertaining sledging session in general against the tone deaf media
