There is no certainty that Weber is Fakatava's eventual replacement according to this article:

TJ is more of a like for like replacement I guess. And he has been playing well.

@Bovidae this test is a potential banana skin the way Japan have pulled out games in recent times and how we are setting all kinds of wrong records...

Sure we will probably win and win well, but we are very ripe playing an understrength team.

TBH I don't think those disruptions will make a major difference to who plays, Japan and further games. The full squad will be in for the European part, pretty much, so no excuses imo. There was always going to be a b team look to versus Japan. And they're not a banana skin, Ozzie C sorted them, could even say Ozzie D with their injuries. Ski we could lose, but that because of foster and his records. A handful out is no excuse at all. Eddie one game master plan Jones is not in charge

@Machpants I wasn't talking about our disruptions just that we will likely have always been looking to field an understrength side.

Japan have stated that they have targeted this game for some time.

Likely to see either DMac or Perofeta starting at 15 with the other on the bench.

RTS on Jordans wing is a guess as well.

What about a back 3 of DMac, Fainga'anuku and Reece. Midfield of RTS and ALB. Christie and Perofeta starting at 9/10. Mo’unga and Ennor on the bench.

Yes. A graft is the surgical replacement ligament.

The Japanese test will be used to give some of the fringe players an opportunity to play. So the midfield against Wales will likely be a new combination again. If ALB is fit (he had a tight groin) I'd play him at 12.

ALB is far more effective at 13, he does not play direct enough to be effective at 12, his style is similar to RTS.. footwork and side-stepping to create holes. His alarming tendency to crab sideways at test-level (much like McKenzie & Havili) makes him ill-suited to 12.

His main strengths are his organisational skills, his ability to manage the backline on defence & communicate the attack. He's an excellent defender but he doesn't offer much potency on attack playing at 12.

@Asterik6 I prefer ALB at 13 too, but I am assuming they might start Ennor at centre. If it's Havili or RTS at 12 then ALB would be at centre.

RTS and ALB I reckon. They need to find time on the field for these guys. Ennor on bench now.

A replacement for Fainga'anuku is expected to be named today. My guess is Telea to the ABs, and Stevenson joins the AB XV.

After the initial euphoria of Jason Ryan getting the forwards going better I think there is some worrying signs developing.

Firstly this the selection that he was seemingly behind of the All Black 15. Dominant Gardener shouldn't make a Crusaders first choice 23 how the hell he got selected in this team is beyond me and can only be bias from Ryan.

Secondly I went back and watched the highlights of the Eden Park Wallaby game. And something I didn't notice at the time was the massive celebration by Ryan (compared to the other 2 coaches) when Cody Taylor scored his try. From his reaction I would guess now that Taylor will be his first choice starting hooker on the Northern hemisphere tour. This would be a huge injustice to the form of Samisoni Taukei'aho and will blunt the All Black forward's ability to out muscle the Northern hemisphere packs.

People forget that Scott Robertson was in charge of the Crusaders and the primary selector and Ryan was more just a coach. With the All Blacks due to Foster's incompetence Ryan has been thrust into more of a selectorial role which I don't think he has the experience to handle yet.

Even though the changes in assistant coach have reaped some initial positive reward I can see troubles ahead once the honeymoon Is over and it all comes down to Foster still being there when he should have been replaced by Scott Robertson.

That seems a rather long bow you are drawing.

You mean the ABs seem to have some forward momentum without Scott Robertson in charge?

Dominant Gardener shouldn't make a Crusaders first choice 23 how the hell he got selected in this team is beyond me and can only be bias from Ryan.

Ryan? Is this the same bloke who was singly responsible for the Ellis Park & Eden Park wins - with Foster having nothing to do with it as Head Coach?

Secondly I went back and watched the highlights of the Eden Park Wallaby game. Seriously impressed with your ability to ascertain the AB team-sheet based on a 2 second clip from reactions in the coaches box. That's a really impressive skill.

This would be a huge injustice to the form of Samisoni Taukei'aho and will blunt the All Black forward's ability to out muscle the Northern hemisphere packs.

And the really, really worst bit is we won't be able to blame it on Foster.

People forget that Scott Robertson was in charge of the Crusaders

Thanks for reminding us as we'd probably have forgotten otherwise

With the All Blacks due to Foster's incompetence Ryan has been thrust into more of a selectorial role which I don't think he has the experience to handle yet.

"selectorial role"? But we were all told by so many people that AB team selections (strangely enough only the bad ones) were made by Foster and any and all good selection were forced on Foster by injuries. I feel deceived, deceived I tell you!

Even though the changes in assistant coach have reaped some initial positive reward I can see troubles ahead once the honeymoon Is over and it all comes down to Foster still being there when he should have been replaced by Scott Robertson.

Ah. I understand. Your observation that Jason Ryan got a bit more excited than Schmidt or Foster in the coaches box when Taylor scored his try is the final, absolute and definitive proof that Foster should be sacked.

                                          Yours in satire
