From what little I've seen he is definitely at least #2 on form for NZ halfbacks so far...

I’ll go against the trend in this thread and actually suggest a bolter - Heem

He’s consistently done a good job for the Blues subbing on at 11, 12, 13 or 14. He’s in the picture as he made the AB xv last year

You need utilities in a relatively small RWC squad. A specialist bench option. That role is currently taken by Ennor

@Duluth already suggested that in the game thread! Very rarely has a bad involvement, great line runner and strong in the tackle on both sides of the ball. Perfect bench man like Blackadder, as well as first into the centres to cover Jordie/Rieko.

I like Heem’s game but there is no way that Fozzie is dropping (his man) ALB. I think ALB has that 23 jersey sewn up.

Heem is the kind of guy to miss out because NZ rugby is ageist as fuck

Yeah you're awesome but you're 26? Ew no thanks

              I missed that

Competent, strong and a low error rate. Not everyone has to be the next attacking freak.

It feels meme-ish here to go at ALB but he's genuinely out best midfielder

Problem is he's not the best 12 for our 10s
And I don't think he's the 13 for the guy they are picking at 12
And you know what? That's okay. That's actually good selection

Oh I think even Goodhue would probably get the call up before Heem, but there's got to be hope in this Foster world.

                  Shit, and Ennor.

@mariner4life I agree and we need a fit and firing ALB to be any sort of chance. I see him playing significant minutes off the bench at both 2nd 5 (replace Jordie or Jordie moves to FB) and also at centre (Ioane to wing). We will need his defence late in games.

@ACT-Crusader Dallas Macleod played pretty well tonight while Levi Aumua was a real handful playing for MP in Canberra tonight.

I don't know.... ALB is a starter or bust for me. Historically the "maverick" in jersey 23 worked better for us. young Beaudy, young McKenzie, SBW, etc

Look at SA, IRE and FRA . Their centres seem to all play 80 minutes or close to it.

You don't see Ringrose or Lukanhyo Am getting subbed.

                            Early doors but interested to hear which players are seen as the World Cup bolters;

For mine so far, Shaun Stevenson is a standout on current form and his achievements last year.

Never mind bolter. He should be in the starting 15.

I think Fozzie will (rightly or wrongly) Ruben Thorn him in a quest to get all three of him Cane and Savea on the pitch. And an injury to the other two guarantees him a slot.

He is perpetual motion, has no regard for his body by the way he goes into contact and has a McCaw esque farmer boy mullet. Whats not to like.

Stevenson might make it, if injuries strike. Can't see anyone else bolting in.

That would imply we were going to change things. Try something new. When was the last time we did that?

I know the new assistants have made a big difference, but we're just doing the same things we have been for eight years, only a bit better now.

We haven't dropped a starting player for poor form since when? A few like Sowakula failed to lock a spot, but the old-timers pretty much have to die.

I'd love to be proved wrong, and have a squad full of new energy and new tactics.

@SBW1 off one decent performance? By a guy I've seen grumbled about by crusaders supporters as too slow? Can't see it eh...

Not completely out of the blue as had been talked about for a while…but TUG is doing everything he can to put his hand up, if he can stay fit then I think he deserves it

I would LOVE to see what RI could running off his shoulder, regular front football, always drawing in a second and often third defender

The way Hoskin is playing, I'd love for them to move Ardie back to 7, along side Ethan, back 3 witj huge workrate on both sides of the ball which would make up for them being probably a bit on the small side.
