Argentina v All Blacks

@Chris-B ...but what tried and tested combos has he gone with? didn't someone say this is only Dmac 3 game at 10 for the AB's? and when was the last one? i very much doubt he had JB at 12 outside him
BB at 15 and CC at 11....but both a bit out of form? has that locking combo played together before? frizell/savea/cane may have experience together....but mainly its experience of not really firing as a combo (mainly frizell)
surely a "safe" option in the tried and test school of thought would be RM at 10 so that 9-13 combo can continue to solidify....and then SS at 15 so he slotting into a unit in front of him that is familiar with each other
@Kiwiwomble Pretty much the whole team, with the exceptions of Lord, DMac and Narawa - and he had no choice with Narawa.
He could have picked Retallick and Mo'unga, so he's made some little dice rolls there.
What he hasn't done is pick a bunch of new caps - Williams, Finau, Roigard, McLeod and Stevenson.
I'm guessing we might see one or maybe two of these guys on the bench vs the Boks.
If we lock up the Bledisloe in Test 1, we'll probably see some of these guys getting a test start in Bled 2.

TAB says:
NZ $1.20
Argentina $4.20Some punters who are more confident than me!
I've punted the Pumas.... that's good $

At least Scott Barrett is at lock - but that will go out the window next week when they select him at 6.....
@KiwiMurph I'd say he slides to 6 when they take Frizzel off and Vaai goes to locl

@taniwharugby so we'll go from an ineffectual 6 to a tired one.....

@taniwharugby They reckon playing lock is more physically demanding than 6, so I think it's more likely for a 6 to shift into lock late in the game than a lock to shift to 6.
I reckon Vaa'i will replace Lord and Papali'i will replace Frizell and we'll try to lift the tempo in the final quarter.

well the way Frizell plays we would all agree

@Chris-B I think we know SB will play 80, so he either goes to 6 or I guess Dalton does, giving us our black jack back row
-
@akan004 i was going to say thats harsh on someone with only a few tests under his belt....until i checked...18 tests...carry on
-
It's worth noting in both losses to Argie under Foz that Frizell started at 6 - and sucked.
@KiwiMurph his selection is so odd to me. Why not try Finau in this game.

If Dmac is starting, it would have been good to see SS in there as well. Potentially, the ABs territorial kicking game could have been improved significantly.
BB... I will be screaming at the TV if we fuck around at our exits and put pressure on ourselves as we have been doing consistently since 2019. ....sigh... I know it is going to happen and I need to mentally prepare for it but the game is on at 4:00 in the morning here so alcohol is not an option. -

He could have picked BBR in the 23, RM to start, and Taylor/Sami to share the #2. That would have been more conservative and closer to a “big game” squad. Unless those guys are banged up, I don’t like what’s he’s done.
And with Cane at 7, I’d have preferred he go with Finau at 6 for some more impact with ball in hand.
Anyway, time to be positive - I for one am looking forward to seeing a spark from Ennor off the bench for the last 15 - the Argies won’t know what’s hit them!

Anyway, I totally agree with BB and exits, is as bad as any team I've seen when he's doing them. That is when he's not trying to be clever and chip it behind them

As to Barrett, the form one, he would've empties his two last weekend, so he might actually come off. But he's normally a full 80 guy, massive engine, form ABs forward this year so far

Problem is Foster doesn't even have any idea why he selects players,I am sure he uses the dartboard method, that is pretty clear over the Foster error oops era.

Where as many on rugby forums pick theirs from where the players are from, or what looked good on tv highlights. If only we knew what was best huh??

Well Foster doesn't, his record speaks for it's self absolutely shit.
He couldn't pick his nose.

@Chris I actually like the team picked for this test, and actually like the 36 man squad. So I guess I another huh, I will obviously have to bow to your superior knowledge.
