Sucks for Otago, have all these great players playing club here then we find out they just go down and play for Southland. Josh Augustine a big one this season who is a tidy winger which we may need this year or next

I had thought I had seen Leroy Carter was meant to be with BOP again this year but he is not in the squad announcement. Wonder what he'll end up doing doing once he returns from the Olympics considering there has been some fern rumours about him being Chiefs 2025.

A lot of the younger NZ sevens players end up playing in the NPC. Fineanganofo did too for BOP last year. I expect Cook-Savage will be in the Waikato squad.

I have no issue with it. Apart from Augustine, only the out and out Southland lads would be a shot at making Otago. I'd see a time in the future when the two premier club comps could be combined. Players nominate at the start of the year who they'd like to play for.
