For all the talk of Cantab bias, Ardie Savea and TJP were right up there for most experienced and shittest performance. Jordie not far behind either. And Aumua.
Too many canes, at their home ground?

      How? H-h-how??? Just, how???

That came down to three moments. Two gifted tries and a series of awful passes.

Does D-Mac need to take a spell and bring Plummer in from outside the squad? We just have zero punch. Personly I thought there were some rough PKs against us. Not sure what SlackBladder did in the lineout other than compete for the ball to warrant a PK and there we some rucks such as the last PK where Sititi was sitting out the back doing sweet FA to be involved yet gets pinged. The fact is, Argentina should have been within 14 points of this game yet we managed to manufacture them a win. FML.

I may get roasted here but in hindsight
      10 Plummer
12 Lam (ok ok raw as hell, ALB then)
      13 Proctor

      would have gone better IMO

It’s funny (if you want to look at this way) but every time we’ve lost in Wellington apart from that Lions test, the weather has been perfect. It’s like the ABs prepare for high winds and bad weather when they play in Welly and then when it’s fine their plan goes out the window.

Weather had nothing to do with this

More Wellington being a port city because the ABs were all at sea

Maybe Razor's super success was due to having the best players?

Well in the Crusaders he got to coach against his now co-coaches Leon and Holland.....

how was the ground? Quite a few players slipped, mostly the AB backs but one or two Argies as well

Pretty ugly really. The one consistent positive from the previous games was our scrum, and not having any of those kinda negated that.
Darry did his job well. Tough night for Aumua, but he's worth persisting with.
Savea seems to be lacking the positives that have been used to justify the balance problem he creates in the loosies. Also he may interview well, but not a captain's arsehole.
TJP, as expected, been ruining backlines for a decade.
I hope the axe gets wielded for the next one, but more likely we get the same 'give those guys a chance to redeem themselves' bullshit. They're too comfortable, they're complacent. Fuck them off.

More importantly: Matera and Kramer were huge. Creevy too: 30-fucking-9, what a champion. Well done Argentina.

Creevy is one of my fave alltime players. Matera is basically a Crusader and streets ahead of any other loosie on the park. Kramer still looks like the bruiser from that Chris Reeves Superman film.

Our tactics remind a little bit of when Wayne Smith tried to bring in the flat attack line because he thought our skills were superior, and it largely failed. I think Razor’s come in with a similar mindset, but what he’s forgotten is at this level, everybody's skill base is at a certain level, and rugby is still very much about power and pressure. There’s no way around it, and we need to select and/or grow players who can play a power game, or we’ll continue to go side to side and look ineffectual like we did tonight. I’ll cut him some slack as we’ve lost Whitelock, Retallick etc. who were the engine room for so long, but he needs to rethink the balance of his team fast.

I'm not sure even Fozzie's teams looked that physicality overmatched. Apart from a few minutes, the forwards looked flat, isolated, and lacked any sort of cohesion or plan. TJPs slow service compounded that, and the backs could get any penetration either

The realty is we still could have won that but the late second half errors were mind numbing.
I genuinely thought those days were over. No captaincy.
Need to commit with the likes of Sititi , Ratima, Proctor, Jordan, Clarke

@Darth-Sader he failed to select the players most responsible for the Blues' winning power game. The game most translatable to test level

So we need a decisive captain, an effcient hooker, an impactful lock (Darry is more a solid workhorse) and Lord to me doesn't look like having the physical impact. 9 is sorted, 10 maybe, 12 is still unclear, 13 has competition, for wings there are enough good players. But our loosies still don't play as a team.

Barely a player came out of that game looking good, there was no organisation. That is a fault of the coaching staff for poor selection and poor team preparation

Yeah there's a top 2 inches missing, looking at a situation where a Crotty or obviously fucking McCaw would have pulled it together, calmed it down, and done whatever it took to win.

Rather than whatever it was Ardie did tonight.
